Q, correct me if I'm wrong...
Did we just see, the "Marko Ramius" (DJT) turn his submarine and "fullaheaded" the democrats with RBG's "death" news (shortening the distance [dems time to prepare])?
My suspicion is, both sides knew RBG is already gone, and both sides kept silent about it. But then, when dem's started to push around, DJT decided to "unpack" (turn the sub into collision trajectory with the torpedo), saving the ship (with very little damage) and leaving dem's very little, or no room (pelosi now will not impeach, R's will have another SCOTUS justice) to do more harm in this round (before the election). Risky but 99% efficient.
