DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds released a statement regarding a controversial holiday display at the Iowa Statehouse in Des Moines.

The display is from the Satanic Temple. It features a ram’s head covered with mirrors on a mannequin.

Lucien Greaves, co-founder of the Satanic Temple, spoke to KCCI and said it’s a symbol of their right to religious freedom.

Gov. Reynolds said the display is “objectionable” in a statement on Tuesday:

“Like many Iowans, I find the Satanic Temple’s display in the Capitol absolutely objectionable. In a free society, the best response to objectionable speech is more speech, and I encourage all those of faith to join me today in praying over the Capitol and recognizing the nativity scene that will be on display – the true reason for the season.”

Update (1640ET): Hours after Harvard announced they won't fire President Claudine Gay for refusing to condemn antisemitism on campus, as well as being a serial plagiarist, a bipartisan group of four House lawmakers are set to introduce a resolution Tuesday which denounces antisemitism at universities, NBC News reports.

The resolution, first obtained by NBC News, is authored by House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y.; the three other lead sponsors are Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., and two Jewish American Democrats, Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chair Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey and Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida.

The resolution comes exactly one week after the presidents of Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Pennsylvania came under fire after they appeared at a House hearing and dodged questions from Stefanik about whether students calling for the genocide of Jews violated school codes of conduct and should be punished.

Over the weekend, Elizabeth Magill, President of UPenn, resigned over her testimony to a House committee in which she refused to commit to an answer. Harvard's governing body, however, said on Tuesday that Gay would keep her job.

Democrats Combine All Their Gun Control Plans Into One Comprehensive Bill

Democrats have reintroduced previously failed proposals representing an exhaustive list of almost all of the gun control bills they have been pushing.

The "Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2023" (Act) has been introduced in Congress each session since at least 2015. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) reintroduced the bill in the Senate on Dec. 6. She wrote on her website that legislation is vital to ending violent crimes committed with guns.

“We’re in a gun violence crisis: 2023 is on track to see the most mass shootings in recent history, and gun violence is now the leading cause of death for children and young people,” Ms. Warren wrote on her webpage. “I’m renewing the push for my comprehensive Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act."

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) is sponsoring the legislation in the House. He wrote on his website that the proposed law would benefit minorities and women.

“It’s painfully obvious that communities of color disproportionately bear the brunt of gun violence in the United States, particularly Black women, who are twice as likely as white women to be fatally shot by an intimate partner,” Mr. Johnson wrote.

According to Mr. Johnson, the bill incorporates the other gun control bills in Congress.

“The Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act incorporates a number of bills,” he wrote on his website.

Ms. Warren’s bill has been referred to the Senate Finance Committee. Mr. Johnson’s bill is in the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The bills would nullify current laws and establish stricter gun regulations.

According to a summary of the bill, at the top of the list is the requirement for a federal or state-issued license to “purchase or own a firearm or ammunition.”

The proposed law also calls for universal background checks and the elimination of the so-called “Charleston loophole” by requiring a completed background check before a sale’s completion.

The Charleston Loophole refers to the fact that the killer in the June 27, 2015, mass shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, was able to take possession of the rifle he used because the government failed to complete his background check within 72 hours.

That is, the law currently allows a gun dealer to complete a sale if the background check is not done within 72 hours. In theory, it is meant to prevent government officials from dragging their feet on background checks.

Watchdog: Soros-Linked Milwaukee District Attorney Refuses to Review Cases of Potential Illegal Voting

Milwaukee County District Attorney (DA) John Chisholm (D) is refusing to review hundreds of cases of potential illegal voting via Wisconsin’s same-day registration policy, researchers at the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) say.

According to PILF researchers, Chisholm has not bothered to review at least 354 cases of potential illegal voting that were referred to the Milwaukee County DA’s Office since 2020.

“Election officials are best situated to notice and investigate potential violations of election law,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement:

Wisconsin requires election officials to investigate same-day registrations and refer individuals who appear to have used bad addresses to prosecuting authorities. When a DA refuses to even look at the evidence, that harms Wisconsin elections. [Emphasis added]

The potential illegal voting cases, PILF researchers say, came as a result of Wisconsin’s policy that allows same-day voter registration on election day.

In the 2020 general election, for example, more than 21,000 Milwaukee residents voted after registering that same day. Of those same-day registrants, more than 1,200 gave election officials addresses that later came up as undeliverable.

Election officials inactivated 349 of those voter registrations and referred them to the DA’s Office. None of those cases, though, have been reviewed by Chisholm thus far, PILF researchers say.

Chisholm, the Capital Research Center reports, is among 30 DAs across the United States who have been elected with direct or indirect support from billionaire George Soros.

“John Chisholm has been a thoroughbred Soros DA for many years … in 2016, facing a Democratic challenger in the primary, Chisolm received $21,000 in support from Soros’s Safety and Justice PAC,” the Capital Research Center reported in March.

Japan's Kishida to remove scandal-hit spokesman as soon as Thursday

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is preparing to replace Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno and three other ministers early as Thursday over a political fundraising scandal, in the first of two rounds of changes to his cabinet and the ruling party's leadership, senior party officials say.

According to senior officials in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, there is a proposal to remove Matsuno and three ministers from the LDP faction at the center of the scandal: Yasutoshi Nishimura, minister of economy, trade and industry; Junji Suzuki, minister for internal affairs and communications; and Ichiro Miyashita, minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. Allegations of widespread unreported income from LDP fundraising parties have rocked Kishida's government as tries to draft the budget for fiscal 2024, which starts this coming April. Kishida will decide whether to remove the cabinet members based on checks by the ministers themselves into whether their political organizations properly declared funds.

This would not be a full cabinet reshuffle, where all ministers submit their resignations simultaneously. LDP policy chief Koichi Hagiuda, are gathering opinions from the party on the budget proposal. Kishida will decide how to proceed with them after the budget proposal is approved, around Dec. 22.

"We will consider what the appropriate response to the public should be, and the right time to act to avoid causing policy delays," the prime minister told reporters Tuesday.

Kishida will hold a news conference Wednesday, the final day of the current parliament session.

Cabinet members and senior party officials from the LDP's largest faction, previously led by the late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, are suspected of failing to report hundreds of millions of yen in revenue from ticket sales for party fundraisers. (100 million yen equals $687,000).

A proposal had been raised within the LDP to remove all cabinet and top party officials belonging to the Abe faction, including ministers, senior vice ministers and parliamentary secretaries.

But the smaller Nikai faction is suspected of failing to report more than 100 million yen in fundraiser income, and it was reported Tuesday that Kishida's own faction may have underreported income from ticket sales.

For those confused. There are two bills to modify the FISA702 reauthorization in the House. (1) HR 6611 from the House Intel Committee and (2) HR 6570 from the House Judiciary Committee. The intel committee bill expands domestic surveillance authority under the modifications; the judiciary committee bill requires the DOJ to get a search warrant before they can look at the incidental collection of American citizens.

Both bills came out of committee and were scheduled for a floor vote tomorrow, which has been cancelled due to public outcry (good job). Speaker Mike Johnson initially planned to let both bills get voted tomorrow and the bill with the most votes advances to the Senate.

The House Intel Committee bill organized by Chairman Mike Turner is absolutely horrible. It expands FISA702 surveillance and makes things much worse. The House Judiciary Bill organized by Chairman Jim Jordan is not structurally that much better, but it does put strong curtailments on the 702 surveillance authority by forcing the DOJ to get actual court approved search warrants on American citizens.

It should not come as a surprise to see a panel of 46 experts in Deep State weaponization come out in support of the Intelligence Committee bill, and then decry the insufferable 702 limitations put into place in the Judiciary Committee bill. The bad guys want the House Intel version.

That’s a who’s-who list of 46 Deep State weaponization operatives, all supporting the Mike Turner version. [pics related]

Turner lied when he said his HR 6611 bill was supported by John Ratcliffe and Devin Nunes. It’s not, and they don’t. Both Nunes and Ratcliffe support a panel within the process who have eyes on everything that is being done and can conduct immediate oversight.

The Deep State folks love the Turner bill (6611) because it makes the surveillance even easier by granting even more authority in their warrantless searches. The Deep State folks do not like the Jordan bill (6570) because it requires a search warrant to look at the material, which means a predicate justification must exist.

Both bills suck, but the Jordan bill sucks less.

We The People just don’t want to be under surveillance, but we have no representation.

Search giant Google has lost its first antitrust case in a San Francisco jury trial. The breakup of Big Tech begins.

Google just lost its first antitrust trial, as a San Francisco jury returned a decision that Google harmed rival Epic Games, maker of the popular video game Fortnite, in the $48 billion dollar app store Android market. Google is facing multiple antitrust cases in different parts of its business, this is the first trial to reach a decision. So what happened? And what does it mean going forward?

Three years ago, Epic’s CEO Tim Sweeney launched a dramatic legal assault against Apple and Google for monopolizing the on-ramp to the phone. This case didn’t come from the left or right, but from the commercial world. It was part of what I called a civil war in American business, as smaller companies across the economy began marshaling against dominant big tech goliaths.

Epic sued both Apple and Google to break their ironclad control over app stores. Here’s the Wall Street Journal summarizing the case:

Epic’s case centered on Google’s dominant position in the market for apps on mobile devices running the company’s Android software, and the fees it charges for developers on its Play Store.

The game developer in 2020 began encouraging Fortnite players to pay Epic directly for purchases of in-game items, rather than using systems developed by Google and Apple. Both tech giants kicked Fortnite out of their app stores…

It became clear during the trial that Google’s goal was to maintain its dominance by preventing the emergence of other app stores.

Google worried about a “contagion effect” with other gaming companies if Epic were to move its flagship title Fortnite away from the Play Store, according to company documents the developer presented at trial.

The tech giant paid $360 million to Activision Blizzard and millions of dollars to 19 other game developers as part of an initiative called Project Hug, an initiative Epic argued was aimed at discouraging them from developing rival app stores. The search company argued the payments encouraged gaming companies to make their titles available in the Play Store.

The judge also ruled that Google had destroyed relevant trial evidence, and told the jury to weigh that behavior in its decision. Here’s Sean Hollister in the Verge on what happened after the jury heard the testimony and judicial instructions:

After just a few hours of deliberation, the jury unanimously answered yes to every question put before them — that Google has monopoly power in the Android app distribution markets and in-app billing services markets, that Google did anticompetitive things in those markets, and that Epic was injured by that behavior. They decided Google has an illegal tie between its Google Play app store and its Google Play Billing payment services, too, and that its distribution agreement, Project Hug deals with game developers and deals with OEMs were all anticompetitive….

Far-right online figures are spreading a conspiracy theory claiming the e-commerce platform Etsy is hosting a child trafficking market — reminiscent of the baseless claim that targeted the online furniture and home goods retailer Wayfair in 2020.

Some far-right figures are even calling Etsy “the new Wayfair,” as the conspiracy theory spread across X (formerly Twitter), far-right message boards and right-wing platforms, and more mainstream platforms such as Reddit, TikTok, and Meta’s platforms, apparently earning millions of views.

The conspiracy theory about Etsy — which is similar to a 2020 conspiracy theory about Wayfair — claims that certain products on the platform, like those with images showing pizza and children, have anomalously high prices because the actual product for sale is a trafficked child, child sexual abuse material, or something related. The claim that “pizza” is a code word for pedophilia was a key component of the false Pizzagate conspiracy theory, which was a precursor to the QAnon and Wayfair conspiracy theories.

The Wayfair conspiracy theory, spurred by a QAnon influencer, forced the company to rebut the claims and caused the Department of Homeland Security to investigate the claim. The investigators found no evidence to support any of the allegations.

On December 10, a QAnon-promoting account on X, @NiQole1776, posted that it had discovered pizza-related products selling on Etsy for thousands of dollars, and the account suggested that these products were suspicious, writing, “Don’t let them gaslight you anymore.”

The post, which is the earliest post that Media Matters found of the conspiracy theory, earned at least 2.5 million views, according to X’s metrics.

Other accounts on X reiterated the conspiracy theory later that evening, claiming Etsy was offering “child exploitation material.” By the following day, right-wing figures with larger followings on X started amplifying the claim on the platform, including podcast host Kyle Seraphin and QAnon influencer Ben Moore (known online as “Sun Tzu”), who congratulated the QAnon-promoting @NiQole1776 account that posted the baseless claim on October 10 for “exposing this.”

That evening, QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theoristLiz Crokinquestioned on X if “CHILD TRAFFICKING” is “TAKING PLACE ON ETSY” because “there are a lot of suspicious listings on Etsy” involving pizza “that have people wondering if child porn or children are for sale for sex on the e-commerce site." Crokin also demanded that the company give “an explanation for these suspicious posts” and thanked the QAnon-promoting @NiQole1776 account for “doing fantastic work exposing a lot of the suspicious activity on these e-commerce sites.”

Crokin’s post received thousands of reposts and millions of views, according to X’s metrics. Among those who amplified Crokin’s post included former national security adviserMichael Flynn, who also tagged @NiQole1776 and earned thousands of reposts. Other QAnon influencers and sympathizers and white nationalist figures — as well as right-wing figures with large followings — have continued to spread the conspiracy theory on X, with some demanding a response from Etsy.

The conspiracy theory has also spread across far-right message boards and right-wing platforms, such as 4chan, Gab, TheDonald, a major QAnon forum, and on Truth Social, along with far-right figures on Telegram, with some users on these platforms calling it “the new Wayfair.” One QAnon influencer on Telegram cited @NiQole1776 directly and demanded “an investigation into this immediately.”

The conspiracy theory has also spread on more mainstream platforms that have large audiences, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, with users again calling it “the new Wayfair.”And on Reddit’s “r/conspiracy” subreddit, a post about the conspiracy theory was one of the top posts on the subreddit during a 24-hour period of time.

Deep Field: The Heart Nebula

What excites the Heart Nebula? First, the large emission nebula on the left, catalogued as IC 1805, looks somewhat like a human heart. The nebula glows brightly in red light emitted by its most prominent element, hydrogen, but this long-exposure image was also blended with light emitted by silicon (yellow) and oxygen (blue). In the center of the Heart Nebula are young stars from the open star cluster Melotte 15 that are eroding away several picturesque dust pillars with their atom-exciting energetic light and winds. The Heart Nebula is located about 7,500 light years away toward the constellation of Cassiopeia. At the bottom right of the Heart Nebula is the companion Fishhead Nebula. This wide and deep image clearly shows, though, that glowing gas surrounds the Heart Nebula in all directions.

Engineers Working to Resolve Issue With Voyager 1 Computer

Engineers are working to resolve an issue with one of Voyager 1’s three onboard computers, called the flight data system (FDS). The spacecraft is receiving and executing commands sent from Earth; however, the FDS is not communicating properly with one of the probe’s subsystems, called the telecommunications unit (TMU). As a result, no science or engineering data is being sent back to Earth.

Among other things, the FDS is designed to collect data from the science instruments as well as engineering data about the health and status of the spacecraft. It then combines that information into a single data “package” to be sent back to Earth by the TMU. The data is in the form of ones and zeros, or binary code. Varying combinations of the two numbers are the basis of all computer language.

Recently, the TMU began transmitting a repeating pattern of ones and zeros as if it were “stuck.” After ruling out other possibilities, the Voyager team determined that the source of the issue is the FDS. This past weekend the team tried to restart the FDS and return it to the state it was in before the issue began, but the spacecraft still isn’t returning useable data.

It could take several weeks for engineers to develop a new plan to remedy the issue. Launched in 1977, the spacecraft and its twin, Voyager 2, are the two longest-operating spacecraft in history. Finding solutions to challenges the probes encounter often entails consulting original, decades-old documents written by engineers who didn’t anticipate the issues that are arising today. As a result, it takes time for the team to understand how a new command will affect the spacecraft’s operations in order to avoid unintended consequences.

In addition, commands from mission controllers on Earth take 22.5 hours to reach Voyager 1, which is exploring the outer regions of our solar system more than 15 billion miles (24 billion kilometers) from Earth. That means the engineering team has to wait 45 hours to get a response from Voyager 1 and determine whether a command had the intended outcome.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson announced Monday that after more than 30 years of service, the agency’s Stennis Space Center Director Richard Gilbrech will retire on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Stennis Deputy Director John Bailey will serve as acting center director after Gilbrech’s departure, and a permanent successor will be identified following a search and competition.

Nelson also announced Chief of Staff Susie Perez Quinn will transition to a senior advisor role at the end of the year, and Bale Dalton will succeed her beginning Monday, Jan. 1.

“Please join me in welcoming new leadership across NASA, who will continue leading our agency to unparalleled success,” said Nelson. “I’m thankful for Rick’s, Susie’s, and Bale’s leadership and wish Rick all the best in his new adventure.”

Gilbrech has served as center director at Stennis for more than a decade and in leadership and engineering roles at NASA since 1991. He has led teams at Stennis in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, and NASA Headquarters in Washington, focusing on propulsion test technology, the space shuttle, and the X-33 in various roles, including as associate administrator for NASA’s Exploration Systems Mission Directorate and deputy center director at both Stennis and Langley.

Most recently, Gilbrech has been instrumental in the growth of commercial partnerships at Stennis, leveraging the center’s unique capabilities and expertise as America’s largest rocket propulsion test site.

Quinn has served as chief of staff since 2021, working with Nelson and senior staff to shape the strategic direction of the agency, while overseeing and articulating various policies and programs, with a focus climate change.

In addition to his experience at NASA as deputy chief of staff, Dalton is a captain in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He received his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School.

“With new transitions and the end of the calendar year approaching, it’s a time to pause and reflect on all that NASA has achieved this year. We’re living through the golden era of space exploration, and it’s because of our world-class workforce that we continue to lead the world in air and space – and I can’t wait to see what’s to come,” added Nelson.

Thanks to a stunning new survey, many Americans are now viewing the 2020 election in a totally different light.

In total,about 20 percent of 2020 voters now admit to cheating. These folks claim they took advantage of loosey-goosey election laws due to COVID, which included filling out ballots for other people and other cheaty things.

In fact, it got so bad that some Americans even admitted to voting in states where they don’t reside. Others confessed to letting somebody else fill out their mail-in ballots, all of which is illegal,by the way. If these are the ones who admit to it, imagine all the others who won’t.

Here’s what Charlie Kirk had to say about the disturbing new survey:

We’ve been told that the 2020 election was the most secure in America history. If you don’t say that, you’re called an election denier and a conspiracy theorist. If you worked for President Trump, you’ll probably be indicted.

But according to a new survey,1-in-5 Americans admit to committing election fraud, taking advantage of 2020’s loosened mail-in ballots, signature verification, and vote bundling enforcement.

Other polls have proven that aplurality or even a majority of Americans believe fraud impacted 2020, but this is the first survey where voters admitted they participated.

Some of the findings include:

– 21% of likely voters who voted by absentee or mail-in ballot in the 2020 election say they filled out a ballot, in part or in full, on behalf of a friend or family member, such as a spouse or child, while 78% say they didn’t.

– 19% of those who cast mail-in votes say a friend or family member filled out their ballot, in part or in full.

– 17% of mail-in voters said they cast a ballot in a state where they were no longer permanent residents.

– Among all voters, mail and in-person, 11% said a friend, family member, co-worker, or other acquaintance has admitted to them they filled out a ballot on behalf of another person in 2020.

And this is just the most mild sort of illegal voting behavior. How many people actually voted in multiple places? How many people had a family member vote for them WITHOUT telling them? How many people did this and didn’t blab to a random pollster?

2020 was not a fair election. It’s obvious. Only a relentless terror campaign by the regime media keeps everyone from saying as much.

This survey and these confessions from Americans really make you wonderhow many non-American citizens votedin the convoluted, chaotic 2020 election, don’t they? The bottom line is that Charlie’s right—2020 was not a “fair election,” and Americans have a right and a duty to keep calling out the fraud

Argentina's new government says it will weaken the value of its currency by more than 50% against the US dollar.

It is part of the "economic shock therapy" that President Javier Milei says the country needs to fix its worst crisis in decades.

Economy Minister Luis Caputo also announced deep cuts to public spending.

They include a reduction in fuel and transport subsidies and freezing spending on some major government contracts and advertising.

Mr Caputo said he had inherited the worst economic legacy in Argentina's history and he was taking steps to avoid hyperinflation.

"We are going to be worse off than before for a few months, particularly in terms of inflation. And I say that because, as the president says, it is better to tell an uncomfortable truth than a comfortable lie," Mr Caputo said in a televised address.

Argentina is battling soaring inflation, with prices rising by around 150% over the last year. It is also struggling with low cash reserves, high government debt, while 40% of the population is living below the poverty line.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) - to which Argentina owes $44bn (£35bn) - called the measures "bold" and said they will help create the environment for private sector growth.

"I welcome the decisive measures," IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva said, adding that it is "an important step toward restoring stability and rebuilding the country's economic potential."

Mr Caputo said the exchange rate would be cut to 800 pesos to the US dollar, from roughly 391 pesos.

Since 2019, Argentina has kept its currency artificially strong by strictly controlling the movement of the currency.

That helped drive demand for the US dollar on the informal currency market, which saw the peso trading at a much lower rate that the the official level.

Mr Milei, a libertarian who rose from relative obscurity to the top office in a bitterly fought election, was sworn in on Sunday.

He campaigned on promises of major spending cuts and was known for wielding a chainsaw at rallies to depict his intentions to slash government spending.

It is not clear if his coalition, which is only the third largest bloc in the country's Congress will be able to implement enough major spending cuts needed to shore up the economy without pushing it into turmoil.

Mr Milei has already cut nine government ministries, which Mr Caputo said would reduce 34% of public sector jobs.

Speaking about the cuts to government spending for infrastructure projects, Mr Caputo said: "The reality is that there is no money to pay for more public works that, as all Argentines know, often end up in the pockets of politicians or businessmen on duty".

Yesterdays puke (though WTI is still on pace for its longest weekly losing streak since 2018), as OPEC forecast a significant shortfall in global oil supplies next quarter.

It even raised forecasts for the crude needed from OPEC this quarter by 190,000 barrels a day, amid a weaker outlook for production from its rivals.

"Speculators played a major role in this trend, cutting their bullish positions sharply while increasing short positions. The market dynamic was fueled by exaggerated concerns about oil demand growth, which negatively impacted market sentiment," the report stated. theory, that puts world markets on track for a record shortfall of about 3.3 million barrels a day in the last three months of 2023.[see below on Contango]

Such estimates are increasingly hard to reconcile with real-world data.

“The oil market will likely struggle until the numbers confirm that OPEC+ have reduced production in the first quarter next year,” said Arne Lohmann Rasmussen, head of research at A/S Global Risk Management.

That doubt may explain why key market gauges over the past few weeks have signaled supply continues to outpace global demand.

Nearby contracts are trading below those with a later date - a bearish structure known as contango - and some spreads are at the weakest since late 2020.

The bearish view could be upset if API's crude draw is confirmed by the official DOE data.

The Oil Market’s Latest Setback: Contango Everywhere

For the first time in more than a year the oil market is flashing bearishness in every key global pricing hub. Wednesday, several Dubai crude timespreads flipped into contango, a structure where nearby prices trade at a discount to later ones, after similar moves in the Brent and West Texas Intermediate benchmarks. As well as pointing to an oversupplied market, contango also tends to provide trend-following funds with a signal to sell more futures.

Crude markets are being pressured by higher supplies, particularly exports from the US, which have countered a decision by OPEC+ producers to curb output. It’s a weakness that has helped drag headline Brent futures prices to the lowest since June.

Until now, Dubai spreads had been trading in the opposite structure, known as backwardation, all year. That was a result of supply curbs from OPEC+, which reduced supplies of the heavy sulfurous — or sour — crude pumped in the Middle East and shipped mainly to Asia.

UAP disclosure bill revised; two key provisions stripped

Two key provisions were deleted from the Department of Defense spending bill regarding the requirement to make any information on UAPs public.

Some lawmakers have been pushing for more transparency around unidentified aerial phenomena and have taken a step toward that goal by including in the annual defense funding bill a provision requiring disclosure of classified records relating to UAPs but not before stripping out key portions of the measure.

As for the UAP measure, whistleblower David Grusch called it a “mixed bag of success.” He credited senators for keeping in a provision that fences off money for illegal special access programs but overall says the watered-down version presented last week doesn’t do enough.

One of the nixed provisions would have created an advisory panel whose members are chosen by the president. This group would have been tasked with sorting through which records would be disclosed.

Another aspect of the bill would give the government full possession of all recovered “non-human technology” currently kept by private entities like defense contractors.

Now, the legislation includes a list of exemptions for disclosing records on UAPs, including ones if the documents could threaten national defense, compromise national intelligence or federal agents or threaten sources and methods of intel gathering.

The UAP measure in the defense bill, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., would disclose records on “technologies of unknown origin and non-human intelligence.”

Rounds said it’s clear now to Congress that it’s not just one branch or area within the government that it has to retrieve material and information from. Therefore, one of this bill’s greatest accomplishments would be establishing a separate location where these records will be kept and transferred.

The bill passed through the Senate with “flying colors,” but Rounds said the House still has some work to do to get it where it needs to be.

The South Dakota representative said he hopes Congress will be able to provide additional information to the American public on this topic without damaging U.S. national security.

However, Schumer says the bill doesn’t go nearly as far as he intended. The senator blames House Republicans for fighting against his efforts for more transparency.

“This model’s been a terrific success for decades,” Schumer said. “It should be used again with UAPs, but once again, House Republicans are ready to kill this bipartisan provision.”

NewsNation sources said the two provisions were taken out after influence from the House Intelligence Committee.

Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett had proposed a provision for the bill that would require the FAA to forward reports from commercial airline pilots who claim they spot an anomaly or UFO. However, Schumer and Rounds had to tell him it wasn’t even considered for the UAP bill because the intelligence community didn’t like it.

To Burchett, it’s about broader transparency from other government agencies such as the Pentagon.

“It’s about greed. It’s about power. It’s about control,” Burchett said. “All those things that run Washington D.C., and it’s obvious that some of my colleagues have been compromised.”

He continued, “They’re studying something over there with our money.”

The New York Postreported last week that third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. once worked out of the office of notorious multimillionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein—a fact that RFK left previously undisclosed when discussing his relationship with Epstein.

The Post cited longtime Kennedy family friend Christina Oxenberg, who wrote in her autobiography thatshe and RFK used Epstein’s office when planning an event that involved then-New York City mayor David Dinkins.

“The office space turned out to be Epstein’s ‘suite of offices on Madison Avenue’ where Oxenberg and the associate identified operated out of a “large and comfy conference room,” the Post reported Dec. 8.

The Post further quoted from Oxenberg’s book, which said that Epstein’s office was “populated by several female executive assistants, all of them in their early 20s and looking like flight attendants from yesteryear with tidy buns, high heels and short tight-skirted suits.”

Along with Oxenberg’s allegations, the Post also published a previously unpublicized photo of RFK and Epstein at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan in March 1994.

The new information follows RFK having to explain why he flew on Epstein’s private jet.

A Kennedy spokesperson reportedly told Newsweek last month that he had “flown one time on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane. It was in 1993 from [New York City] to Palm Beach [Florida] to visit RFK Jr.’s mom for Easter.”

The spokesperson reportedly added that the private jet trip was facilitated through Kennedy’s then-wife,Mary Richardson Kennedy, who was apparently friendly with Epstein’s partner, Ghislaine Maxwell. Richardson Kennedy passed away in 2012, and RFK Jr. has been married to Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines since 2014.

“Mary, Kennedy’s wife, and two of their kids were on the flight,” the representative told Newsweek. “Mary knew Epstein’s girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who learned that they were going to Palm Beach for Easter and offered their family a ride.”

However, what the spokesperson told Newsweek contradicts what Kennedy has reportedly told investigative journalist Whitney Webb for her Epstein magnum opus, One Nation Under Blackmail.

In that book,Webb quoted Kennedy saying he flew on Epstein’s jet twice—not once, as Newsweek reported. “In one instance, the flight was part of a pre-planned fossil hunting trip to South Dakota, which he believed had been Ghislaine’s idea as Epstein had appeared to only have attended ‘grudgingly,’” Webb wrote.

“On that trip, Kennedy remembered that Epstein ‘did not mingle with us and hardly spoke and did not participate in the fossil hunt.” According to Webb’s book, Epstein had a problem with Kennedy’s “rambunctious children.” Epstein purportedly ordered the flight to land in Chicago and deplaned so he could make his own way home.

A blonde was waiting for Epstein at planeside in Chicago, and Kennedy remembered that Maxwell was in “silent tears” after Epstein’s abrupt departure. The other trip described in Webb’s book seems to be the same one reported by Newsweek.

Remarking on Kennedy changing his tune,Webb said: “I am very concerned that he told me in an interview for my book he was on the plane twice, but now is saying it was once.”

Seems like everyone from the far left to the far right is stunned at the tenacity of Trump supporters. Trump has topped the polls since polling for the 2024 election began.

Why is that? Haven’t we been told over and over that Trump is a wannabe dictator, and specifically in a fiery speech by the former Vice President Joe Biden on September 1, 2022 that "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic"? Weren’t we told again on September 28, 2023 "This MAGA threat is a threat to the brick and mortar of our democratic institutions"?

Why are we not convinced? Why can’t we be happy with Ron DeSantis or Nikki Haley? Ron DeSantis was supposed to be the new “Trump light;” A refreshing younger politician with solid conservative credentials and performance as governor but without the “unpolished” persona of DJT. Yet DeSantis is failing in the polls and his candidacy. Nikki Haley would also be a great fit as the first woman president, daughter of immigrants from India, and an experienced politician. But she also isn’t gaining any traction in the polls.

So, who are these MAGA fanatics? Did we drink too much Kool-Aid or are we under the spell of a madman, as the Left would have the world believe?

I think it’s simple. It’s not about Trump’s endearing personality , his deep humility , or his strong leadership in the early days of the “pandemic” pushing aside all the toxic advice from Lord Fauci.

It’s about critical thinking. This is truly what the Left is truly out to destroy. This is why they’ve infiltrated our schools and colleges with curriculums that no longer focus on core skills, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship but instead fill our children’s heads with their poisonous ideology.

Critical thinkers understand nothing is perfect, the “science” isn’t “settled,” and yet there are certain inviolates, such as, you can’t just on a whim change the definitions of “vaccine,” “woman,” or “insurrection.” Critical thinking thrives on open and free exchange of ideas, and dies with censorship. Critical thinking thrives on the removal of government regulations and opening the curtains for entrepreneurship and dies with totalitarianism. Critical thinking thrives on the prospect of reward for innovation with the corresponding risk of failure, and dies with the promise of equity.

We abhor being told what to think and what to do, and we abhor safety nets. We seek strong leadership that will allow us just to be who we are. Trump spent his life as an entrepreneur, so he gets it. He doesn’t have the genes of dictator; he only knows the rewards of success from risk and hard work. Trump proved he could shove aside the enormous barriers erected over the decades by predecessors from both sides of the aisle to allow critical thinking to reign in this country.

Trump had four years and despite his many great achievements, he failed to clean house. This is what critical thinkers vividly see in the next Trump term that we don’t see in a DeSantis or Haley administration. We see the drive and energy in Trump akin to Milei, who kept his promise to slash the burdensome bureaucracy in Argentina’s government on day one. We see in Argentina that it can be done here, and Trump is the one to do it.
