Investigation Into Biden, Classified Docs Is Reportedly Far Wider Than Previously Believed

Authorities have interviewed witnesses and examined internal White House processes in relation to President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents.

Federal prosecutors and FBI agents have significantly widened the investigation into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents, according to ABC News.

Prosecutors and agents from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s office have interviewed as many as 100 witnesses, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and have examined internal White House processes during the past nine months, according to the outlet. Some interviews were conducted as late as mid-September, and some interviewees have even been asked to return for a follow-up interview.

Authorities have reportedly gathered information regarding Biden’s alleged carelessness in the handling of classified material during his time as vice president, ABC News reported. The witnesses reportedly said the removal of the documents appeared to be a mistake rather than criminal activity.

In the course of the investigation, Hur’s office has been accessing and investigating documents dating back to the early days of former President Barack Obama’s administration and Biden’s tenure in the Senate, according to ABC News.

Witnesses have reportedly been questioned about Biden and his aides’ internal procedures for handling classified material, especially where Biden stored documents, notecards and briefing books, ABC News reported. (RELATED: More Classified Documents Found In Biden’s Garage, Next To His Corvette)

They have also accessed email chains dating back to 2010 and have asked witnesses for context and have reportedly asked witnesses about the use of safes and cabinets, per the outlet.

Biden’s lawyers found ten classified documents at the University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Penn Center on Nov. 2, leading to an FBI search. More documents were found at his private home in Delaware on Dec. 20, Jan. 11, Jan. 12 and Jan. 20.

Biden’s attorneys did not announce the discovery of the first tranche of documents until January, though they initially discovered them just ten days before the 2022 midterm elections.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur as special counsel on Jan. 12 to investigate whether the president mishandled the classified documents.

Both Biden and Blinken said they were “surprised” to learn of the classified documents being in his private possession when reports first surfaced in January. The president, along with his administration, defended the storage of classified documents by arguing that he and his legal counsel are fully cooperating with the FBI.

The former banker told Bloomberg in a story published on Monday about his $269 million plan to rejuvenate the sprawling set of tunnels, also known as the Kingsway Telephone Exchange.

Murray bought the tunnels from the British telecommunications company BT Group. The tunnels have been owned by the company since 1986, per the BBC.

"Where can you get 8,000 square meters of historic novelty in London, that's got a billion-dollar reconstruction valuation?" Murray told Bloomberg.

Fund manager Angus Murray is gearing up to spend millions of dollars on a secret network of tunnels under London, all with the aim of turning them into an iconic tourist spot.

The former banker told Bloomberg in a story published on Monday about his $269 million plan to rejuvenate the sprawling set of tunnels, also known as the Kingsway Telephone Exchange.

Murray bought the tunnels from the British telecommunications company BT Group. The tunnels have been owned by the company since 1986, per the BBC.

"Where can you get 8,000 square meters of historic novelty in London, that's got a billion-dollar reconstruction valuation?" Murray told Bloomberg.

The tunnels were built in 1940 and are located about 100 feet under central London, per the BBC.

The tunnels were built to be used as air raid shelters during World War Two before being used by the UK's foreign intelligence service, MI6, per the BBC. The tunnels were later used as a telephone exchange center between the White House and the Kremlin during the Cold War, per the BBC.

Some urban explorers have documented their walkthroughs of the tunnels and the rooms they've found.

Murray told Bloomberg his proposed ideas for the space include working with entertainment giants like Warner Bros. Discovery on movie-themed exhibits, to providing a slice of history to visitors by restoring artifacts in the tunnel.

Murray's company, The London Tunnels, says it intends to construct the "deepest licensed bar" in London within the tunnels.

"Imagine feeling the London Underground thundering directly above you, where 'shaken, not stirred' Vesper Martinis could be served 40 meters below ground," read Murray's company website.

The Kingsway Telephone Exchange is but one of the many tunnels under London. The London Transport Museum frequently hosts tours of such abandoned underground stations.

Murray is bullish on his investment. He told Bloomberg that the spruced-up tunnels would be a sure draw for tourists.

"Would I compare this to be as iconic as the London Eye? Yes, I would. Who wouldn't come here?" Murray told Bloomberg during a tour of the tunnels last month.

Representatives for The London Tunnels did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider sent outside regular business hours.

According to Target Inc. they are closing stores in urban areas in four specific states. The stores Target plans to close will shut their doors on October 21. Carrie Cunningham puffed out her cheeks and exhaled. She looked out at the audience filled with 2,000 of her peers, surgeons who were attending the annual meeting of the Association of Academic Surgery, a prestigious gathering of specialists from universities across the United States and Canada.

Cunningham, president of the organization, knew what she was about to reveal could cost her promotions, patients and professional standing. She took a deep breath.

“I was the top junior tennis player in the United States,” she began. “I am an associate professor of surgery at Harvard.

“But I am also human. I am a person with lifelong depression, anxiety, and now a substance use disorder.”

The room fell silent.

Cunningham knew others in the room were struggling, too. Doctors are dying by suicide at higher rates than the general population. Somewhere between 300 to 400 physicians a year in the US take their own lives, the equivalent of one medical school graduating class annually.

Surgeons have some of the highest known rates of suicide among physicians. Of 697 physician suicides reported to the CDC’s national violent death reporting system between 2003 and 2017, 71 were surgeons. Many more go unreported.

For years, no one in surgery talked publicly about mental distress in the profession; surgeons have long experienced a culture of silence when it comes to their personal pain. They have a reputation as stoic, determined and driven. They are taught, throughout a decade of grueling training, to dissociate themselves from their body’s natural cues, telling them that it is time to rest, eat or urinate.

The patient’s needs always come first – that’s part of what makes a good surgeon. But this approach can have consequences for a surgeon’s own mental health.

Cunningham had already lost one friend to suicide. She decided that if her job was to save lives, she would begin with her own and those of her colleagues.

She started to tell her story.

Not every road ends in a STEVE. A week ago, a sky enthusiast's journey began with a goal: to photograph an aurora over Lake Huron. Driving through rural Ontario, Canada, the forecasted sky show started unexpectedly early, causing the photographer to stop before arriving at the scenic Great Lake. Aurora images were taken toward the north - but over land, not sea. While waiting for a second round of auroras, a peculiar band of light was noticed to the west. Slowly, the photographer and friends realized that this western band was likely an unusual type of aurora: a Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement (STEVE). Moreover, this STEVE was putting on quite a show: appearing intertwined with the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy while intersecting the horizon just near the end of the country road. After capturing this cosmic X on camera, the photographer paused to appreciate the unexpected awesomeness of finding extraordinary beauty in an ordinary setting.

Bob Smith, chief executive of Blue Origin, will resign from the company in December and be replaced by Dave Limp, the Amazon executive who had been overseeing development of its Project Kuiper constellation.

In an email to employees Sept. 25, Smith announced that he would step down as CEO effective Dec. 4 after six years on the job. He said he would remain with the company until early January to support the transition to his successor.

Smith said in the email he was leaving Blue Origin with “pride and satisfaction” in the company’s accomplishments since joining the company. “We’ve rapidly scaled this company from its prototyping and research roots to a large, prominent space business,” he wrote. “We have the right strategy, a supremely talented team, a robust customer base, and some of the most technically ambitious and exciting projects in the entire industry.”

Blue Origin has grown from fewer than 1,000 employees when Smith took over as CEO to more than 10,000 today. During his tenure the company completed development and started commercial flights of its New Shepard suborbital vehicle, while continuing development of the New Glenn orbital launch vehicle and the BE-4 engine that powers both New Glenn and United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan rocket. The company also won a NASA award in May to develop a crewed lunar lander, Blue Moon, for the Artemis lunar exploration campaign.

However, the company has also faced the perception that it is falling behind SpaceX, which has performed 68 orbital launches so far this year using its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets, as well as an unsuccessful test flight of its next-generation Starship vehicle. New Glenn is years behind schedule, although a company executive said at World Satellite Business Week earlier this month that Blue Origin was planning “multiple” launches of the vehicle in 2024.

New Shepard, meanwhile, has been grounded since an engine failure during a September 2022 flight that carried payloads but no people. Smith said at a conference in June that the company was within “a few weeks” of resuming flights, but New Shepard has yet to fly since then.

“When I joined Blue, we had very, very little revenue,” Smith said at the June conference. “Now we have hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue as well as billions of dollars in orders, so we’re in a very good position.”

There had been recent signs, though, that Blue Origin’s growth was slowing. In early September several employees reported on social media that they had been laid off. All were recruiters, and an industry source familiar with the layoffs said they were tied to a slower pace of hiring, and not a reduction in overall workforce.

“In his six years, Bob led Blue Origin’s transformation from an R&D-focused company into a multi-faceted space business nearing $10 billion in customer orders and over 10,000 employees,” a company spokesperson told SpaceNews.

Smith said in his email that he had been discussing his planned departure with company founder Jeff Bezos for months, and that Bezos would separately announce his successor. Bezos, in an email shortly after Smith’s, praised the departing CEO.

“Under Bob’s leadership, Blue has grown to several billion dollars in sales orders, with a substantial backlog for our vehicles and engines,” Bezos wrote.

Bezos announced that Dave Limp would take over as chief executive of Blue Origin. Limp announced in August he planned to step down as senior vice president for devices and services at Amazon, also founded by Bezos. Limp’s portfolio at Amazon included Project Kuiper, Amazon’s broadband internet constellation in development, as well as consumer devices like Kindle and Echo.

“I’ve worked closely with Dave for many years. He is the right leader at the right time for Blue,” Bezos wrote. “Dave is a proven innovator with a customer-first mindset and extensive experience leading and scaling large, complex organizations. Dave has an outstanding sense of urgency, brings energy to everything, and helps teams move very fast.”

“He has extensive experience in the high-tech industry and growing highly complex organizations,” a Blue Origin spokesperson said of Limp in a statement.

Report: Biden’s German Shepherd Commander Bites Another Secret Service Agent; 11th Attack

CNN reported Tuesday that Joe Biden’s German Shepherd named Commander has bitten yet another Secret Service agent. This is the eleventh known attack by Commander on a Secret Service agent since the Bidens brought him in to replace their other German Shepherd named Major after he attacked and bit Secret Service agents. One of Commander’s attacks sent an agent to the hospital.

Commander’s previous biting incidents were kept quiet but were revealed thanks to Judicial Watch filing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. That this biting incident was leaked to CNN right away appears to show some in the White House are fed up with how the Bidens are handling their dogs.

President Joe Biden’s younger dog, Commander, bit another US Secret Service agent at the White House Monday evening, CNN has learned, the 11th known biting incident involving the 2-year-old German Shepherd.

“Yesterday around 8 p.m., a Secret Service Uniformed Division police officer came in contact with a First Family pet and was bitten. The officer was treated by medical personnel on complex,” USSS chief of communications Anthony Guglielmi told CNN in a statement.

The injured officer spoke with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle on Tuesday and is doing OK, Guglielmi said.

Commander has been involved in at least 11 biting incidents at the White House and in Delaware, according to CNN reporting and US Secret Service email correspondence, including a November 2022 incident where an officer was hospitalized after the dog clamped down on their arms and thighs.

White House officials said in July that the Bidens were working through new training and leashing protocols for the family pet following the incidents.

judicial Watch announced today that it received 194 pages of records from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealing 10 attacks by President Joe Biden’s German Shepherd, Commander, on officers and agents of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) between October 2022 and January 2023, and do not include any possible recent events. In several cases the agents required medical care, including at a hospital.

Judicial Watch forced the release of the records through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that was filed after the Secret Service, a component of Homeland Security, failed to respond adequately to a December 2022 request for “records related to incidents of aggression and bites involving the Biden family dog, ‘Commander.’” Judicial Watch filed the request after receiving a tip about the dog’s behavior.

Acquired in December 2021, Commander, a pure-bred German Shepherd, replaced another German Shepherd, Major, which was reportedly “given to family friends” following a series of attacks on Secret Service and White House staff. (In April 2022 Judicial Watch released records detailing multiple attacks and damages to Secret Service members by Major at both the White House and Biden’s lake home in Wilmington, DE.)

On November 3, 2022, a Secret Service official at “JOCATDESK” [Joint Operations Center Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge] emails colleagues in the Presidential Protective Division:

Commander bite [sic] UD [Uniform Division] officer [redacted] at post [redacted] two times, one time in the upper right arm and a second bite on the officer’s thigh. WH [White House] medical treated the officer and made the decision to have [redacted] transported to [redacted] Hospital.

An email later that day from a captain of the Uniform Division, whose name is redacted, states that he was advised that the dog was up-to-date on all vaccines.

A November 4, 2022, email report adds details regarding the previous day’s attack. A Division officer, after being bitten in the arm and thigh, had to use a steel cart to shield himself from another attack:…

A former adviser to former President Barack Obama blasted President Joe Biden for joining striking members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Tuesday.

Biden attended a picket line in Michigan Tuesday, the day before former President Donald Trump was slated to give a major speech in that state instead of attending a Republican primary debate. The UAW walked off the job at three auto manufacturing plants in Ohio, Michigan and Missouri at midnight Sept. 15 after failing to reach an agreement with Ford, General Motors and Stellantis (formerly Chrysler).

“For him to be going on a picket line is outrageous,” Steve Rattner, who was the “auto czar” during the Obama administration, said in an interview, according to NBC News. “There’s no precedent for it. The tradition of the president is to stay neutral in these things. I get the politics. The progressives all said, ‘We don’t want a mediator; we want an advocate.’ Andhe bowed to the progressives, and now he’s going out there to put his thumb on the scale. And it’s wrong.”

“You deserve what you’ve earned and you’ve earned a hell of a lot more than you gettin’ paid now,” Biden said during his visit to the picket line.

The union sought a four-day work week and a 36% salary increase over five years, accordingto Bloomberg. Biden endorsed the union’s demand for the pay increase. The UAW has also criticized President Joe Biden’s efforts to promote electric vehicles, Politico reported.

Residents of Pomfret, Vermont’s Cloudland Road have taken a stand against the annual fever pitch of fall foliage tourists by temporarily closing the most impacted road during the season’s peak.

In recent years, the tiny town’s stunning autumnal display has become a social media sensation, and as a result the area now gets annually inundated with influencers and their ilk keen to take selfies with the beautiful backdrop — private property be damned.

“Something had to be done,” Mike Doten, who owns an 80-acre farm on Cloudland Road, told the Boston Globe of the disrespectful internet creators who’ve begun inundating the narrow dirt road with vehicles and trespassing onto his and his neighbors’ land every fall. “It was too much.”

Attorneys for Man Charged With Killing 2 Teenage Indiana Girls Argue They Died in Ritual Sacrifice

DELPHI, Ind.—Attorneys for a northern Indiana man charged with killing two teenage girls contend in court documents filed Monday that their client had nothing to do with the crimes and that the girls actually died as part of a ritual sacrifice.Attorneys Andrew Baldwin and Brad Rozzi, who represent Richard Allen of Delphi, said in a 136-page document that 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German were killed by members of a pagan Norse religion and white nationalist group known as Odinists.They also requested a hearing to present evidence that the search warrant for Mr. Allen's house was based on faulty probable cause and should be suppressed.

“Members of a pagan Norse religion, called Odinism, hijacked by white nationalists, ritualistically sacrificed Abigail Williams and Liberty German,” the attorneys state said in the filing.

”nothing, absolutely nothing, links Richard Allen to Odinism or any religious cult,” they wrote.

The attorneys claim that two groups of Odinists, one from the Delphi area and one from the Rushville area in southeastern Indiana, were investigated for their involvement in the crimes. They say investigators found multiple ritualistic symbols at the crime scene, including the way Liberty’s body was positioned.

The Carroll County prosecutor’s office didn’t immediately reply to a Monday phone message seeking comment about the defense’s claims.

The two girls were found dead near the Monon High Bridge on Feb. 14, 2017. An autopsy showed that they had been stabbed.

In a search warrant request in March 2017, an FBI agent claimed the girls’ bodies appeared to have been “moved and staged” at the crime scene.

The defense filing claims possible “Odinism signatures," including ritualistic symbols, were left at the crime scene but that investigators abandoned that angle.

Mr. Allen’s attorneys also named several potential suspects who have not been charged in the case.

The girls were killed after a relative dropped them off at a hiking trail near the Monon High Bridge just outside their hometown of Delphi, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Their bodies were found the next day in a rugged, heavily wooded area near the trail.

Mr. Allen has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The killings have haunted Delphi, a city of about 3,000 where Mr. Allen lived and worked at a drug store.

Author of School Districts’ Most-Challenged LGBT Book Speaks Out: ‘Parental Rights Really Anger Me’

It tells us something when a person who is too confused to figure out their own gender wants to substitute his judgment for the judgment of millions of parents.

The author of one of the most banned novels in the country says “parental rights” make him angry and push him to write more such stories.

Alex Gino is the author of “Melissa,” a book about a boy named George who believes he is a girl. The book has been banned in four U.S. states and was No. 1 on the American Library Association’s most challenged list from 2018 to 2020, according to Yahoo News.

The book was initially published as “George,” but later renamed “Melissa.”

BookLooks, a website that rates children’s books, summarized the concerns in the book as follows: “This book contains alternate gender ideologies including transitioning commentary; inexplicit non-sexual nudity; and alternate sexualities.”

One part of the book describes how George feels while taking a bath. The passage reads: “She took off her shirt while the tub filled waiting until the last possible moment to take off her pants and underwear. She immersed her body in the warm water and tried not to think about what was between her legs, but there it was, bobbing in front of her,” according to the Des Moines Register.

Gino, who identifies as “nonbinary,” told Yahoo News, “Parental rights really anger me, because what about human rights? People who are under 18 are human and if you are keeping information about the world from young people, you are leaving them less prepared to learn how to be in the world.”

“If my book is going to get challenged, that to me is a sign that there are more stories that I need to write. And so I’m writing now about queer and trans kids who don’t just exist but who know each other and who have community and who get to thrive. If they’re going to say, ‘Don’t do it,’ then I better not tell myself not to do it. I better do it more,” he added.

According to the LGBT Foundation, “Non-binary is used to describe people who feel their gender cannot be defined within the margins of gender binary. Instead, they understand their gender in a way that goes beyond simply identifying as either a man or woman.”

Which sounds to me like gender limbo — neither here nor there.

So let’s let the most confused group of people in the world prepare children for the world instead of the people who care about them the most — that will definitely help them.

As parents, it is our duty to help simplify the path to adulthood and prepare our children to meet life’s challenges with clarity as far as we can.

Good parents watch the ratings on TV shows, keep safeguards on their kids’ computers, and keep books containing thoughts and ideas that solidify doubts into perpetual confusion out of their kids’ book bags.

Regardless of what some “nonbinary” author thinks, those who will walk that child through adulthood and beyond get the final say.

‘Aussie Cossack’ gets Russian citizenship

Activist Simeon Boikov is a wanted man in his home country

Simeon Boikov, a Sydney-born activist and videoblogger dubbed the ‘Aussie Cossack’ in his country for his unabashedly pro-Moscow stance, has been granted Russian citizenship.

His name was listed in a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, which granted Russian nationality to 41 foreign-born applicants.

Boikov has been drawing the ire of Australian media for years, with critics blasting him as a “propagandist” who is abusing the country’s supposedly relaxed free speech.

In January, Ukrainian ambassador to Canberra Vasily Miroshnichenko accused Boikov of exposing him to “a major telephone harassment campaign” by sharing his private phone number in a YouTube video. The diplomat filed a complaint with the Australian federal police over the incident.

Miroshnichenko was campaigning to ban Russian athletes from the Australian Open tennis championship at the time, and Boikov invited his followers to share their opinions on that to the diplomat.

Later in the same month, the New South Wales Police reported that an arrest warrant had been issued in Boikov’s name, after he failed to show up for a court appointment. The case involved a scuffle between him and a elderly man during a pro-Ukrainian rally at Sydney’s Town Hall in December last year.

He was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after the incident, with his passport revoked on the eve of a planned flight to Moscow. Boikov took shelter at the Russian consulate in Sydney, claiming to be a victim of persecution and petitioning for Russian citizenship. An Australian magistrate convicted Boikov in absentia in February.

Researchers reveal new evidence of Nord Stream explosions

A total of four blasts hit the gas pipelines last September, Norwegian scientists have claimed

Seismic data indicates that four separate explosions struck the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year, Norwegian researchers told The Guardian on Tuesday.The explosions destroyed three of the four Nord Stream lines.

Seismologists at Norsar, a foundation set up to monitor for earthquakes and nuclear tests under the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, initially identified two explosions along the Nord Stream pipelines last September. One blast hit Nord Stream 2 at 2:03am local time on September 26, 2022, while the second hit Nord Stream 1 at 7:03pm on the same day.

The Norsar team found that data from the day suggeststwo additional blasts took place seven and 16 seconds respectively after the second explosion.

Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 each comprise two separate pipelines. Given three out of the four lines were destroyed, the use of more than two explosive devices was already considered likely. However, Norsar is the first investigatory body to publicly confirm this suspicion.

Both sets of Nord Stream pipelines were severed near the Danish island of Bornholm. According to Norsar, the second and third explosions took place within 220 meters of each other, while the fourth took place several kilometers away.

The governments of Denmark, Germany, and Sweden are all investigating the blasts, though none has released any findings, and all have prohibited Russia from participating in the probes.

In the meantime, two competing theories have emerged as to who was responsible for sabotaging the pipelines. According to reports in the Western mainstream media, a team of Ukrainian commandos used a rented yacht to transport explosives to the blast sites, with the CIA and European intelligence agencies being made aware of the plot several months beforehand. Reports by the Washington Post and the Netherlands’ NOS news network claim that the CIA in fact told the Ukrainians to abort the plan.

However, American journalist Seymour Hersh has said that US President Joe Biden ordered the CIA to blow up the pipelines. Citing sources in the intelligence community, Hersh has claimed that CIA divers working with the Norwegian Navy planted remotely-triggered bombs on the lines last summer, using a NATO exercise in the region as cover.

By destroying the pipelines, Biden intended to sever Germany’s energy ties to Russia, thus preventing Berlin from lifting sanctions on Moscow in order to save its gas-dependent economy, Hersh argued.

Biden warned in early February that in the event of military action by Russia, “there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in March that he “fully agrees” with Hersh’s conclusions. Putin argued that the US in particular benefited from the attack due to its position as a competing gas supplier to Europe.

It's been described as the 'scariest sound in the world' – somewhere between a spooky gust of whistling wind and 'the scream of a thousand corpses'.

Now, experts have recreated the noise of the Aztec Death Whistle, by building a new version of the legendary instrument with a 3D printer.

They created their new whistles based on the design of the skull-shaped original, which was found with a skeleton in Mexico in the late 1990s.

It's thought the skull-shaped whistle may have been used by Aztecs before they were killed in ceremonies to honour the god of wind, Ehecatl.

In the Aztec creation myth, two gods gathered in a sacrificial fire and became the sun and moon, but were immobile until Ehecatl blew on them.

Now, people can buy their own death whistle on Amazon made from a variety of materials such as resin, ceramic and even carbon fibre

A new video of the 3D-printed whistle was posted by the Action Lab, an educational YouTube channel dedicated to performing scientific experiments.

'This has been deemed the most terrifying sound in the world,' says presenter James J. Orgill.

'Believe it or not, this is not a human scream.

'The sound that the death whistle makes innately strikes fear into your heart.'

It was back in 1999 that the original Aztec Death Whistle was found held in the hand of a headless skeleton during the excavation of an Aztec temple in Mexico City.

'Archaeologists first thought that this must be some sort of toy and they didn't think much about it,' says Orgill in the new video.

'It wasn't until 15 years later for some reason a scientist blew into the hole in the top of it and this is the sound that came out.

'It was a startling discovery because it sounded like a screaming human.'

Although the exact purpose of the death whistle has been lost to history, there are several leading theories.

Some experts think the Aztecs likely used the noise to help people's souls travel to the afterlife when they were sacrificed.

According to one Amazon product description, they 'emit a scream that sounds like a woman being in horrible agony' and are 'perfect for Halloween'.

They also make a helpful prop for dramatic productions – for example, for scenes when characters hear a scream off-stage.

Tencent co-owned a main investor in startup that helped expedite COVID relief program loans

China’s Tencent profited off fraudulent federal COVID relief program loans, according to court records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

The court records reveal that Tencent co-owned one of the main investors in Womply, a San Francisco startup that raked in $2 billion in 2021 by helping businesses get expedited Paycheck Protection Program loans—and which was accused of profiting from "rampant fraud" in the application process.

Tencent, which also owns WeChat and a large stake in the parent company of TikTok, has faced scrutiny by the U.S. government over national security risks. In 2021, the Trump administration issued an executive order banning transactions with Tencent due to its connections to the Chinese government. President Joe Biden rescinded the ban after taking office, but ordered a security review of the company's apps.

Tencent’s financial ties to Womply could raise new questions about abuse of the PPP program, despite efforts from lawmakers to prevent foreign entities from profiting. The Small Business Administration, which oversaw the disbursement of nearly $800 billion in taxpayer funds throughout the pandemic, estimates that more than $200 billion was awarded to "potentially fraudulent actors," according to a June inspector general report.

"Congress approved Paycheck Protection Program loans to prevent a recession from huge wave of layoffs—not to send taxpayer dollars to China," said Gabriel Noronha, a former State Department official who now serves as the executive director of the Polaris National Security think tank. "It’s unacceptable that the parent company of TikTok is making money off government fraud—especially when we’re in the middle of increasing debt and national security crises."

The news comes less than a year after the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis released a report detailing Womply’s failures to weed out blatantly bogus loan applications. Another investigation found that the company helped fast-track loans for fraudsters who used photographs of Barbie dolls and other false documentation to apply for the federal relief funds, according to the Messenger.

The findings led the Small Business Association, the agency that oversaw the PPP program, to suspend its work with Womply earlier this year.

Womply was founded by Toby Scammell, who was convicted of insider trading in 2014. The company "was responsible for handling eligibility and fraud verification for over a million PPP loans" from applicants looking to fast-track the process.

Womply pulled in over $2 billion in fees through its PPP work. But Womply’s lending partners told congressional investigators that the company’s fraud prevention practices appeared to be "put together with duct tape and gum," allowing "rampant fraud" into the PPP program.

The Department of Homeland Security is not only hiding the purported legal basis for its authority to police misinformation, disinformation and malinformation – the latter sometimes jeered as "true but inconvenient" – but also any explanation for invoking an unexpected Freedom of Information Act exemption to hide them.

Hastily stitched together 22 years ago to prevent another Islamic terrorist attack but since turning its sights on domestic political disputes, the agency gave Just the News a lengthy defense of its work against disinformation but not an answer to how disclosure of its "MDM Space" legal authorities would imperil law enforcement work.

The purported authorities are among nearly 1,700 pages of "heavily redacted" internal DHS documents related to the short-lived Disinformation Governance Board, according to the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, which obtained the documents by filed a Freedom of Information Act request and a lawsuit last year and has posted each new batch over the past nine months.

The agency also heavily redacted over 100 pages of internal communication between Nina Jankowicz, the board's executive director before it was disbanded last year, and her staff in response to another FOIA request. J6 prosecutor arrested after allegedly stabbing motorist who crashed into him on Tampa bridge

Scruggs was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and armed burglary.

A US Attorney who previously appeared on behalf of the government in a January 6 case has been arrested after being accused of stabbing a motorist on an Old Tampa Bay bridge.

On Tuesday, Florida Highway Patrol said that a 40-year-old Tampa man and his 43-year-old wife were driving south on Interstate 75 when they came across a vehicle stopped in the travel lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge around 9:24 am, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The 35-year-old driver, also of Tampa, was seen slumped over in his vehicle, police said. The couple pulled in front of his vehicle to assist.

The 40-year-old man was unable to get inside the vehicle, so he walked back to his car for something that could break the window. During this, the 35-year-old woke up, accelerated forward into the couple’s vehicle, then backed up and attempted to get around their car.

The man, in his attempt to get around the car, crashed into 38-year-old Patrick Douglas Scruggs’ sedan as he was driving by the scene.

Highway Patrol said that Scruggs pulled over, got out of his car, and approached the driver of the vehicle that hit him. Scruggs allegedly broke a window and began stabbing the 35-year-old with a pocketknife.

The couple attempted to intervene, but were allegedly threatened by Scruggs with the knife.

A St. Petersburg Police Department officer driving by the scene pulled over to help, and detained Scruggs before calling for assistance.

The 35-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were described as serious, but not life-threatening.

Scruggs was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and armed burglary. He was released from Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday night after posting $65,000 bail.

In one post viewed by the Tampa Bay Times that has since been removed, Tara Jex Iglinski said she saw the incident as it was unfolding.

Iglinski said she saw a man "holding the knife and I saw the arms of the guy sticking out the window like he was pleading for help- and his arms were all cut up," with accompanying photos showing a man holding a knife and standing next to the car, with the driver showing bloody arms.

The stunning first 9 minutes and 44 seconds of Kristen Welker’s interview with ex-President Donald Trump were largely edited out of Meet the Press — but they’re an illustrative 9 minutes 44 seconds.

Welker and NBC News spent several days last week promoting the interview by dropping preview clip after preview clip — including exchanges in which Trump said that he never even wanted to “think about” pardoning himself while president and that he will definitely testify under oath, and another in which Welker took a stab at confronting Trump over his age — as well as more anodyne clips like his musings about the attractiveness of the “concept” of picking a woman to be his running mate and the contents of the letter he left for President Joe Biden in the Oval Office.

As soon as the announcement was made that Welker would be interviewing Trump and throughout the preview period, criticism grew about the decision and the format of the interview — so much so that NYT reporter Peter Baker addressed it on-air during the show.

Then on Sunday, the interview aired on Welker’s first turn as permanent moderator of Meet the Press, and turned out to be the blizzard of falsehoods, misleading statements, and evidence-free attacks that many predicted it would be.

Criticism followed, much of it focused on the falsehoods and Welker’s performance, of which CNN’s Oliver Darcy said “Welker seemed ill-equipped to handle Trump’s trademark bravado. Lacking any noticeable fire in her belly, she at times timidly tried to set the facts straight. But Welker lacked the necessary fervor and apparent grasp of the subject material the massive platform requires to effectively counter Trump.”

But the footage aired during Meet the Press didn’t tell the whole story — not even close. The full interview ran 78 minutes, the first 9-10 minutes of which vividly showed the challenge Welker faced, as she spent most of that tine trying to get Trump to “move on” from a lie that she repeatedly told him had been debunked.

Here’s just a taste of those 10 minutes:

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: The election was rigged. There’s no question about that. There’s so much proof on it. Even if you go to the more modern-day proof with the — they call it Twitter Files, FBI and Twitter, or you take a look at the Amazon stuff or the Google stuff, or you take a look at “2,000 Mules,” you take a look at all of the ballot stuffing that’s on tape, you take a look at the fact that the legislatures didn’t approve a lot of the things that were done in the elections, and they had to approve. And we could go on forever. We could go on forever. But, but no. I want somebody that’s going to be strong, respected, tough, and fair.

KRISTEN WELKER: Just to go back to a couple of the points you said, the ballot stuffing. That’s something that’s been debunked.

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: It hasn’t been debunked. It’s on camera.

KRISTEN WELKER: As you know, let’s — But I do want to keep moving forward.

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: Yeah, but, Kristen, it’s on camera. Hundreds — even thousands and thousands of people. You take a look. True the Vote. Take a look. It’s on camera. They have thousands of —

KRISTEN WELKER: But Mr. President, you know Republican officials and top law enforcement officials, they have told you that that’s debunked.

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: I know, but, Kristen, you can’t say — They have thousands of pictures of people — I know you have to say that for your network, but you shouldn’t say it, because that’s the problem.

KRISTEN WELKER: But, Mr. President–

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: The news has lost such power.

KRISTEN WELKER: Let’s stay on track, though, Mr. President. Let’s stay on track with these questions —

FMR. PRES. DONALD TRUMP: No, but you’re saying– It hasn’t. We have thousands of essentially motion pictures of people stuffing the ballot boxes. Tens of thousands.

KRISTEN WELKER: But, Mr. President, they’re not stuffing the ballot boxes. And you’ve been told that by your top law enforcement officials. But let’s stay on track, because we have so much ground to cover. We have policy ground to cover, Mr. President.

It went on for several more minutes like that, with Welker repeatedly trying to close the matter by declaring the lies “debunked” and Trump continuing to insist that the debunkings were, in fact, the lies. Viewers of the program only saw a fraction of these exchanges.
