The layoffs come after a disastrous 2022 that saw Disney stock plummet 44 percent — its worst year in nearly five decades.

Disney’s financial woes come as the company increasingly embraces transgenderism, critical race theory, and other forms of woke politics in its entertainment aimed at children.

Pixar’s “Elemental,” which had the worst opening of any movie in Pixar history, featured the studio’s first gender “non-binary” character in a theatrically released movie.

Software Engineer Imprisoned for Developing Application to Break China’s Internet Censorship

Two people, who were detained by Shanghai State Security Police in October 2021 for developing software that circumvents the Great Firewall, received six- and five-year prison sentences on June 12, 2023.

He Binggang and his fiancée Zhang Yibo, together with several others, were arrested on Oct. 9, 2021, for developing and maintaining software that helps people living in China to access overseas internet platforms, according to the Falun Dafa Infocenter.

The Chinese regime set up Great Firewall (GFW), or Golden Shield Project, in 1998, which is managed by the regime’s Ministry of Public Security to monitor and censor what can and cannot be seen in China through an online network.

He and Zhang are Falun Gong adherents, a spiritual practice that has been persecuted inside China since 1999 and has been the subject of intense political propaganda.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual improvement practice based on principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance, with five slow-moving, gentle exercises that have significant physical benefits. The practice has been very popular in China, with an estimated 70 million to 100 million practitioners in the country before the Chinese communist regime began to persecute the belief and its followers in July 1999.

He and Zhang had developed software called oGate that allows Chinese people to freely access websites and information available outside of China but which are blocked by the GFW and otherwise unavailable inside China.

A group of Chinese non-IT activists, including lawyers and journalists, launched BanGFW on March 8, 2023.

Persecuted for Belief: Reports

He and Zhang have been subjected to long-term persecution by the Chinese regime for their belief in Falun Gong.

According to Minghui.org, the police denied He’s lawyer from visiting him at Shanghai’s Changning District Detention Center. On March 10, 2022, his lawyer was allowed to talk to him on the phone at the detention center, but without seeing him in person.

He’s physical condition is very poor because of repeated torture by the Chinese regime.

“His neck issue and partial paralysis, which resulted from torture during [the] previous detention, worsened. He has now completely lost the ability to walk and has become bedridden. He has trouble falling asleep at night and suffers from constant dizziness, headache, and incontinence,” Minghui reported in June 2023.

He, 46, has been imprisoned two times previously.

He is a gifted software engineer, according to Minghui.org, a platform that tracks the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

When he was 15 years old he created “Computerized Audible Aids for the Blind.” The invention won the Silver Award of the Sixth National Invention Award and the “Sixth Shanghai Yilida Youth Invention Award.”

He obtained a certificate in computer application software engineering as a senior programmer when he was only 16.

In 1994, He was admitted into Fudan University, and four years later he entered the graduate program.

In 2000, he was detained by police and later given a six-year sentence at Shanghai Tilanqiao Prison.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) – Greece’s conservative New Democracy party won a landslide victory in the country’s second election in five weeks Sunday, official projections based on early returns showed, gaining enough parliamentary seats to form a government for a second four-year term.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ party is projected to win 40.5% of the vote, with his main rival, the left-wing Syriza party, suffering a crushing defeat with just under 18% projected support, even worse than its 20% in the last elections in May.

Sunday’s vote came just over a week after a migrant ship capsized and sank off the western coast of Greece, leaving hundreds of people dead and missing and calling into question the actions of Greek authorities and the country’s strict migration policy. But the disaster, one of the worst in the Mediterranean in recent years, did not affect the election, with domestic economic issues at the forefront of voters’ minds.

The projections indicate Mitsotakis’ party will win enough of Parliament’s 300 seats to form a stable government thanks to a change in the electoral law that grants the winning party bonus seats. The previous election in May, conducted under a proportional representation system, left him five seats short of a majority despite winning 41% of the vote.

In all, eight parties are projected to surpass the 3% threshold to enter Parliament, including a far right party and ultra-religious party. The number of parties that make it into Parliament will affect how many seats the winner will hold.

Harvard scientist faked honesty studies – scholars

Business professor Francesca Gino’s colleagues are reportedly reexamining their work with her

Harvard University business administration professor Francesca Gino hasbeen placed on leaveafter a science blog accused her of faking study results, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

Data integrity blog DataColada published a detailed examination of Gino’s alleged fraud, including falsified study results found in at least four articles. The three behavioral scientists behind the blog had previously been involved in uncovering falsified data in one of Gino’s best-known studies.

However, the findings had already beencited hundreds of times in other papers, with thousands of dollars spent by governments attempting to turn them into policy.

In 2021, Harvard told business school professor Max Bazerman, one of Gino’s co-authors, that theresults of another study from the paper weren’t just irreproducible – they were fake. The school reportedly provided 14 pages of evidence showing someone haddeliberately tweaked the experimental data, invalidating the results, and suggested the journal which had published and then retracted it add a note explaining this.

DataColada revealed last week how they had previously raised concerns with Harvard about Gino’s fake data, and subsequently published evidence that the star professor hadfudged results in two more papers she co-authored. Bazerman confirmed to the Chronicle of Higher Education that Gino’s name was on four papers currently being analyzed for fraud.

Gino’s fall from grace has had heavy “reverberations in the academic community,” University of Pennsylvania behavioral scientist Maurice Schweitzer told the New York Times, noting thathe was examining the eight papers he co-authoredwith her and suggesting many colleagues of the prolific publisher were doing the same.

The author of several best-selling books on topics including dishonesty and unethical behavior, Gino’s most recent work isironicallytitled ‘Rebel Talent: Why It Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life’.

Meanwhile, Bazerman used Gino as an object-lesson for a chapter about the perils of putting trust in relationships in his own book, titled ‘Complicit: How We Enable the Unethical and How to Stop’.

“The irony of this being a story about data fraud in a paper on inducing honesty is not lost on me,” he wrote.

Was it really a coup or a Putin ‘psyop?’ Was the event ostensibly designed to flush out CIA and NATO operatives in Ukraine and Russia? We know Putin is very smart and he plays 4D chess. He’s friends with Prigozhin. If the latter survives, then it most likely it was tactic planned by Putin all along. It was claimed the Wagner forces shot down Russian aircraft, but there is no real proof that it happened.

We can only guess what’s really what in Ukraine. Is Zelensky’s counter-offensive working? Are the Russians covering up casualty figures? Does Putin really have terminal cancer? Nothing we hear can be trusted, but one thing is certain. America has no vested interest in Ukraine.

Blinken’s comments mark the most extensive reaction by President Joe Biden’s administration since Wagner rebelled on Friday against Russia’s military leadership. “We haven’t seen the last act,” Blinken told CBS host Margaret Brennan. “We’re watching it very closely and carefully, but just step back for a second and put this in context. Sixteen months ago, Russian forces were on the doorstep of Kiev in Ukraine, thinking they’d take the city in a matter of days, thinking they would erase Ukraine from the map as an independent country. Now over this weekend, they’ve had to defend Moscow, Russia’s capital, against mercenaries of Putin’s own making.”

Blinken speculated that the Wagner incident will help Kiev gain ground in its counteroffensive against Russian forces in the Donbass region. “To the extent that it presents a real distraction for Putin and for Russian authorities – that they have to look at, sort of mind their rear, even as they’re trying to deal with the counteroffensive and Ukraine – I think that creates even greater openings for the Ukrainians to do well on the ground.”

Kiev’s forces sustained heavy casualties as they repeatedly attacked Moscow’s defensive lines in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday. Ukraine lost more than 800 troops, as well as more than a dozen armored vehicles and other weaponry.

Foreign intelligence services likely played a role in the failed Wagner coup attempt, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday. He declined to name the countries that he believed to be involved. Putin, who called the short-lived uprising a “knife in the back” of Russia and its people, said such strife might be used by the country’s enemies “to subvert us from within.”

Blinken said Biden’s administration always prepares for “every contingency in terms of what happens in Russia.” He added, “Of course, when we’re dealing with a major power, and especially a major power that has nuclear weapons, that’s something that’s of concern, something we’re very focused on. We haven’t seen any change in Russia’s nuclear posture.”

What happens next in Russia amid “profound internal divisions” is for the Russian people to decide, Blinken said. “It’s too soon to say with any certainty what the final chapter in this particular book is going to be, the rising storm of Prigozhin . . . . This creates more cracks in the Russian facade.”

REPORT: Basketball Player Who Blamed Covid Vax for Heart Condition Dies of Heart Attack at 28

A Dominican professional basketball player named Óscar Cabrera Adames has died of cardiac arrest at the age of 28, according to reports.

According to an Instagram post from Dominican sports journalist Héctor Gómez, Adames died while undergoing a stress test at a Santo Domingo health facility. Adames is believed to have suffered from myocarditis, a disease that erodes the heart’s ability to pump blood. Following his death, several social media posts written by Adames were found in which he said he developed myocarditis after receiving two coronavirus vaccine shots.

Adames says he agreed to receive the vaccine because it was a requirement for work.

Cabrera’s collapse reportedly occurred in 2021 while playing in the Spanish Amateur Basketball League.

Rumors have been circulating for a while about a potential Russian attack on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and now there are Ukrainian reports that the attack is imminent.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO CHERNOBYL?

To put this into perspective, the Chernobyl power plant is considered RELATIVELY SMALL in comparison to Zaporizhzhia.

The Chernobyl power plant blew up in 1986 and to this day a circumference of around 19 miles (30 km) from the power plant is still UNINHABITABLE.

At the time of the explosion, THOUSANDS of people had to relocate and those exposed to the high levels of radiation experienced increased rates of cancer, particularly thyroid cancer.

That being said, if Zaporizhzhia was to blow up, the ramifications would be much larger.

MY THOUGHTS:

I’ve made the statement in my last tweet that Putin is in a very weak position: The war is not going as planned, NATO pressure is not easing, and now his grip on power is weaker than it’s ever been.

I’ve also been concerned about what Putin would do if he’s backed into a corner, what I considered to be a RED LINE. Well now, he’s in a VERY BAD corner.

Putin’s actions, to date, have been restrained, irrespective of the above. However, the ‘coup attempt’ changed the game and I wouldn't be surprised if the war gets uglier prior to a peace deal being reached.

While the above report is from Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, arguably a biased source, it should nevertheless be taken VERY seriously.

A Nuclear accident would be a VERY serious escalation in this war and may trigger Article 5 of NATO based on Lindsey Graham’s proposed resolution that any nuclear disaster caused by Russia would trigger it.

This has lead to many speculating the possibility that Ukraine could blow up the power plant and then blame it on Russia. This would strategically bring NATO to become directly engaged in this war.

I don’t think Putin or Zelensky will authorize the plant to be blown up, but I also think the likelihood of this occurring has increased DRASTICALLY in the past 3 days.

We’re at a crossroads: Yesterday’s power struggle in Russia will either cause Putin to seek peace, albeit on weaker terms than initially envisaged, or escalate the war by crossing lines no one anticipated would be crossed. My bet is on the former.

Stacey Plaskett, the Democratic congressional delegate representing the US Virgin Islands, won her election in 2014. She may owe her victory in part to Jeffery Epstein's donations, which were found to have come in after his conviction of solicitation of prostitution of a minor in 2008.

Emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show that Plaskett, in communications with Epstein's previous assistant, Lesley Groff, seeking support from Epstein. "If you would share this invitation with Jeffrey I'd be much appreciative. I would be grateful for his support and the support of those that he may direct to assist me," Plaskett wrote in the July 12, 2018 email.

The amount of money that Epstein gave to Plaskett, according to the email, was $5,400. Half was to go to her primary and half to the general election. 

On June 8, Plaskett conceded that it was a "bad fundraising decision" on the show, Analyze This, on WTJX-FM in the Virgin Islands. 

However, the real start to the connection with Epstein started in 2014 with the Virgin Islands governor's wife, Cecile de Jongh. 

De Jongh was the First Lady of the Virgin Islands at the time, but also served as Epstein's office manager. It appears that the idea to help Plaskett may have come originally from de Jongh. She insisted, back in 2014, that Epstein needed to help Paskett.

De Jongh wrote to Epstein in 2014, "Your help is needed. We are trying to get Stacey Plaskett elected to Congress. Shawn Malone (current senate president) is running against her in the Democratic primary in August."
