Thirdly from some digging here https://www.hooktube.com/watch?v=GcJdUbghpLc found our 4-3-3 formation in pic 2 is prone to being overwhelmed by their 3-4-3 formation in pic 3 since they have a diamond shaped midfield making it 3v4 in there, as well as having the positions to sneak balls through. The relevant bit starts at 8:49 in the video and this natural weakness to 3-4-3 is also seen in game as well.
Finally it looks like we were using a sub-optimal 4-3-3 since our mid-fielders weren't in a triangle shape with a player behind the other two for more flexibility in offensive/defensive play.
Of course all of this could be bullshit since I know jack shit about soccer and only started looking into it today. As for things we could change right now we should update the formation to have the more optimal midfield shape, have some dedicated backup goalies, and perhaps swap Sketchy and Aryanne again I don't know what the info of the players are so not sure if this is good.

I don't know if that's a good idea because I don't know what the team stats are. Different formations require sometimes very different player comps to pull off right it seems. One thing to note though from looking at previous icups is that teams using the well established vanilla formations like 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 do ok, but never well enough to win or be finalists. note that I can't tell if that's from incompetence in setting up a team though
The meta seems to favor unorthodox strats like 4-4-2 in a 4-3-1-2 used by /a/, who was consistently the strongest team wining the first cup and being top 4 in cup 2. This seems to be the same with this cup as well. With the biggest victories so far being /animus/(3-4-3) vs /pone/(4-3-3) ending 4-2, /tv/(4-2-4) vs /argentina/(4-4-2) ending 3-1, /strek/(5-4-1) vs /christian/(4-4-2) ending 3-1, and 1 outlier /dose/(3-5-2?) vs /just/(3-4-3) ending 1-4 I don't know what the fuck is going on here since /dose/ originally submitted a 4-4-2 variant but ended up with 3-5-2. Maybe some rigging? :^)
Also I was wrong it seems GEP was the goalie the entire game. After looking over the game like 6-7 times I think we should focus on a more defensive counterattack oriented play-style since our team seems to really like long passes. The focus would be to draw the enemy into our zone, and create huge open areas in theirs that we can quickly press into with long passes after stealing the ball. This requires a robust defense oriented midfield with some of the front-line players being ready to dive straight into their goal zone at any moment.
This tactic can be seen in our first goal against /animu/ when they overextended and lost the ball, afterwards our players used a few long passes to sneak hume into the goal area with the ball. Also hume does good work as a striker but we really need to tweak his accuracy with the ball since the second score was a lucky rebound off the goalpost for a second attempt and his third attempt at a score was just slightly off in the second half. If we tighten that up a bit we could get more consistent goals. this is just my thoughts after rewatching our match with /animu/ I have no idea how viable this would be against other teams or even against /animu/. The autism in spending all this time trying to figure shit out is consuming me. Please help

Other than editing the formation slightly, nothing. Any other changes would require editing the player stats themselves and that's obviously not going to happen mid tournament.
Also are people aware that you can have 3 PRESETS in the tactics of your teams including DIFFERENT FORMATIONS, pic related. Also when fluid formations is turned on you can have additional FORMATIONS set for different scenarios. Basically the organizer probably has some unneeded setting turned on, fluid formations and change preset tactics, that are changing the formations seen in-game.
