It's not even about the multicult bullshit. The super special nu main characters get more screen time than the actual mane six in the teasers that have been released so far. The last season is an absolutely terrible time to try and add six new important characters; one season won't be long enough to properly characterize them or allow the audience to get used to them taking up screen time. The last season should be a good note to end the stories of Twilight, Pinkia, AJ, Dash, Flutters, and Rarara on, which will prove to be a hard task while hasbro is busy introducing its scootaloo-colored dragon oc. The series finale is going to be so stuffed full of new characters that nobody cares about that we won't even have a chance to properly say goodbye to the characters we've loved and watched grow over the past eight years. Season 8 promises to be extremely unsatisfying from an emotional point of view.
Also, the whole school concept is the laziest possible conclusion to Twilight's relationship with friendship imaginable. Everything since season four seemed to be building up to Twilight's ultimate fate somehow pulling all of Equestria together with friendship magic or something, and now it turns out that it's just school. How fucking disappointing.
