According to what I get, there was complete rewrites and versions of the script; original was about the history of Equestria and the origin of the Alicorns.

Then it was about a King taking back Equestria

Then it was about ponies losing their magic, struggling to reconquer it.

The part where king storm starts playing with day/night reminded me of Jacquouille from Les Visiteurs; a french movie. I guess i know who's a fan and he suggested this, certainly as a joke.

They did not want to take no risk to please the investors and commercial so they went with the most basic; brand story. There. Movie! Happy!

That guy is Mike Vogel, a writer, and guy whjo loves Disney stuff. As the movie was released in theatres he was tweeting about Disney cartoons and a made up nostalgia, maybe mentioned the movie a few times.

He has no serious interest in MLPFIM, he is a man who does his job without passion. An executive not an Artist.

In totality the budget allocated for the movie, including legal, licensing, postprod, and everything toals 65M, 28M just for the making, plus all the rest for the 5 long years making it, rewriting it; cancelling the contract with sony, the tantrums with Sia and other actors full of themselves some threatening to give up, fucking the ambience, putting presure on the staff, the loss of millions and time because it was supposed to be in theaters over one year ago…

It doubles the budget of a production. this is insane. let's admit it. this studio is good for TV production. Releasing a full length film with a different crew and other production methods is like driving a small electric vehicle, to driving a semi truck and guarantee a perfect delivery. Chances are you get a blonde for the job who broke the transmission.
