"Luna Elipsed" Luna was the only good Luna to date. At the very least her role made some sense in the narrative–a royal who has been displaced in time by a thousand years and who suffered a crippling fear of rejection while at the same time affecting a dark off-putting aesthetic. That is a Luna that fits with the storybook from the pilot, not to mention a unique character with plenty of narrative possibilities. I mean, you could do a series about a ghoulish fish-out-of-water creature like that. Instead, what do they do with her? They give her dreamwalking powers and have her sooth strange children's nightmares like Bizarro Freddy Kreuger. What a waste.

Luna started out as a confused, out-of-it character with a rough past that just wanted to make Her subjects happy. Then the comics happened, and instead of watching the damned show to get an idea what the characters are about, Cock and Prick apparently just got someone else to sort of watch Luna Eclipsed and jot down some notes for them to work off of.

Then the bronys, also being autistic, incompetent, sociopaths, took to this new Luna like a sponge to water. Then Hasbro got a hold of it.

I don't know. The Sun and Moon goddesses as sisters bit really makes sense in a mythological way. Perhaps Faust meant that Nightmare Moon was originally going to be the villain in the Season Two premier? They could have left Season One on a cliff-hanger and finally finished the battle with Nightmare Moon in the first episode of Season Two. Then Season Two would have the no-longer-evil Luna trying to find her place in the strange new world.

In shows like Addam's Family, Beetlejuice you expect emo characters out the dozen, but not from a cutesy wootsie cartoon like this with these kind of visuals and voice acting.

Still, Luna as NMM and her first 10 seconds of speech never came off as silent, creepy, stupid and autistic like everyone(including Vogel and the comic book writers) keep pushing her as.

She seemed more like a mousey character who was actually outspoken, humble, normal in the head. Every villain in this show was orignally an insane arrogant asshole until they get beaten the living shit out of (with love) and then become gentle, humble, apologetic, normal in the head.

I would have loved to see how a talented person would have handled the transition from asshole villain to pathetic wimp that just got belt whipped badly.
