so I'm fucking around with this song, remixing it kind of you could say.. I have a first run test version, but there's also an alternate outtake, and I'm not sure which one I like best, which direction I want to go with it…

so I'm asking for your advice

here's how I'm doing this:

in video number one, I'm giving you a shortened section of the original song, with none of my additions added to it, just part of the original song, enough where you can hear the track I started with… it's called Bad Karma by a swedish guy named Axel Thesleff, or something like that… in the video, he's an inside trader who swindles a bunch of money and gets busted.

next I'm going to play you my original trial run remix… it's not finished it's not perfect it's a trial run, and like all trial runs, it's just a trial run.. the levels need to be set better, but you'll get an idea of my direction I was going in…

the third video is going to be the alternate outtake, and there's parts about it I like better than my original trial run, so I'm in a quandary as to which direction I should head in, the original direction, or the alternate outtake direction..that's where I would like your advice, particularly regarding which of the remixes you prefer most, video number two, or video number three…

and finally, video number four is the last idea I bounced around, and I'm thinking about putting it somewhere in the middle as a break, perhaps with a big drop afterwards?

okay so now you have heard the original version of the song…

this is my initial first run remix..

again, the levels need to be set better, I'm aware of this fact, and I'm going to adjust the levels for the finished product….

I am also making changes to the video.. the storyline of the inside trading is going to be replaced…

in my video, Godzilla has come out of the ocean and ended up hiding somewhere in Sweden, posing as a human at a large corporation.

when Godzilla goes online and it discovers there is a gigantic reward for any information leading to his arrest, he concocts a plan to turn himself in and get rich quick…

somehow he gets the money and starts fucking hookers and partying, and every time things are going good he forgets to pay attention and next thing you know he's set something on fire..

flames come out of his mouth and he sets the hookers on fire.. he sets everything on fire accidentally, and turns to the camera and shrugs his shoulders, like "what the fuck did you expect? I'm Godzilla"

after exporting my initial first run of the Godzilla meets bad karma concept, I accidentally exported this alternate fucked up version, which is incomplete just like the initial one.

but there are parts about this alternate version that I like better than the first one…

SO WHY I'M CURIOUS WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WOULD THINK, and I'm asking you which of these are better: the first trial run, or this alternate outtake version?

and finally, this is a very rough unpolished section I exported and I was thinking about using it as a break in the middle of the song, an interlude…

I'm thinking about having two breaks, splitting this section down the middle and having a part a and part b break

once I figured out the arrangement that's best, then I'm going to quickly wrap up the video and animation.. the thing I showed you earlier is just a video outline, with still pictures marking the location of the upcoming video inserts

right now I'm working on finalizing the music, and not worried about the video yet…

the guy who recorded this song has an unusual habit of paying attention to all of the comments on his YouTube page and I want him to click on my video so he can see that I'm destroying the song in my own weird way

Of course, I gotta go do some garden work first, then I'll get on my main computer and figure out a way to share a massive 444.4 MB FLAC file with you. But it's good shit, it's right up your alley, and I think you'll find at least some useful musical ideas in it.

I just listened to it this morning, as a matter of fact, and was reminded how much of our musical experience has been restricted and stunted by the MP3 format. All the highs and lows get chopped off with MP3, and we're so used to hearing music like that now that it's a real moving experience to listen to a well-recorded FLAC formatted audio selection, especially as it relates to Artistic "Musical" Expression.

Even cacophony sounds better when fully experienced, and not just the general middle-ground gist of it being pummeled at ya.

Anyway, later!
