SA Looting PROVES All 'Smart TVs' Activated With Remote Kill Switches!
Last month there was widespread looting and chaos in South Africa as alleged supporters of former president Jacob Zuma protested against his incarceration over contempt of court charges. The protests disintegrated into chaos as people started looting shops and blowing up ATMs. Among the popular items stolen were smart TVs.
Samsung South Africa has now announced that they would be remotely blocking all TVs looted from shops during this period.
TV block is Samsung’s remote security feature which detects Samsung TVs that have been activated illegally and not by their rightful owners. The feature allows Samsung to remotely disable all functions on the affected Television set rendering it useless. Essentially it turns your stolen smart TV into nothing more than a heap of plastic with a screen.
A 'major weakness' of the feature is that it only comes into effect when the culprit device connects to the internet.
As soon as the TV connects to the internet its firmware contacts Samsung’s servers to check if there is a block on the TV. The TV sends its serial number to the servers and if there is a block in effect the TV automatically disables itself.
https://archive.md/4inkT
MY COMMENT: This 'security feature' is not really about looting but PLANNED OBSOLESCE, which I have said many years ago they are putting these kinds of 'kill switches' in all major utilities today so corporations (and governments) can remotely disable these utilities as a form of control and to make consumers keep buying new utilities if they keep using outdated models! It's NO LONGER CONSPIRACY, this is confirmed! Ignore this all you want, it is confirmed now. The same goes with all new vehicles, computers, phones, refrigeration systems…. ANYTHING THAT IS NEWER (post 2011)! Yes, I've warned about that almost 10 years ago!!! NOW CONFIRMED.

……………and ?
ALL things connected to the internet send out an identifier….
It's been that way for a lot longer than just 10 years, and your "warning" back in 2011 meansthat obviously, back then, you were one of the last people to find out about it…
EVERYBODY HAS ALREADY KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR 16 YEARS…

Before 2011, corporations were NOT making electronic products with a 'kill switch' that could allow a company or government to remotely disable the device or utility. This all came out in their 'smart grid' planning from Day 1. Which began to be implemented in 2011!

I wasn't necessarily talking about the remote disablement circuitry as much as I was talking about identifiers being sent out as soon as you connect to the internet

I'm not exactly sure why you're so surprised that wireless technology allows for wireless disablement of stolen electronics.

Thanks for your informative OP.
I think I'll devote my energies toward helping develop malware that will infect the majority of "smart" TVs, initializing the shutdown process, thereby frying the firmware here, there, and everywhere… ("But that's not legal or ethical, anon!", you say) So, it's ok when (((they))) do it?.
No.
The "Mostly Peaceful Protests" won't be available on one's "smart" tv for much longer. Either way it will become a casualty of this criminal cultural catastrophe.

Giving the government or a corporate oligarchical cartel a master key to every lock, or not even allowing folks to lock their doors, own their own door or lock, or anything behind the fucking door, for that matter, is what we're talking about here, dumbass.
You're old enough to remember when things were built to last. Now grow up, and recognize that this goes way beyond all that. They not only want you constantly upgrading your technology for profit, it is about totalitarian control. I know you love that shit, Johnny. You were institutionalized in your own mind long ago, will probably never get free of it, and you will most likely continue to work at helping others get, and remain, imprisoned. But I won't act like, nor will I be treated like, livestock. Certainly not without HEAVY Resistance.
Some cows wear their ear-tags as a fashion statement. I prefer the earless, battle-scarred look. Sure, I can't blend in as well, but I'm not liable to get stampeded either, since I'm just a lone wolf, an old male giraffe, driven beyond the pale…

Go for it, seriously. By the way, just as a tip for all, this is why my television set has no internet connection, it's an outdated plasma with a VCR/DVD combo player. I have tons of ripped and 'store bought' DVDs and tons of cheap VHS tapes I've purchased over the years (I can get those for 25 cents at the local flea market out here). Average DVDs I can find for $2 or less. I bought the old movie "North To Alaska" for $1 the last time I bought a used DVD. No need for that internet bullshit.

No, but the government does mandate that 'smart' gps tracking crap in all new manufactured vehicles, the regulation came out around 2016 I believe. You can no longer purchase new all-mechanical vehicles anymore. You can legally buy them used though, and that's the loophole. The problem is obtaining older parts for maintenance. That's why certain people only keep their old vehicles for private property or local commute only, and will drive a modern Ford Ranger or F-150 if they desire to commute longer distances.

By the end of 2022 there will be such political upheaval and anger that an emergency will be declared to jump-start industry back in the US. What China is doing to America right now is sending a message to BOTH Republican and Democrats: you all lost the trade war! And China is trying to rub it in our faces…. however, soon, as this turns ugly when there are massive shortages America is going to have to face the music, and re-think globalization. We are going to have some hard times but eventually common sense will be forced to prevail, and we'll be forced to re-build our industries domestically while cutting some taxes and red tape too. So long-term, expect two things: draconian cities will lose influence due to economic catastrophe and white flight, as well heavy shortages for around a year before things start to get cleaned up (hopefully some crooked politicians during those times too).
