I've been saying this for quite some time but it is very true, those that are smart have been bailing from the system and moving away from highly dense populated areas. Soon enough our infrastructure will start to fail and fall apart due to lack of maintenance and lack of skilled hire. You most definitely want to get out of dodge before that happens en mass and work hard to become more self-sufficient and independent. Focus on survival: hunting, fishing, gardening and raising livestock (butchery is a skill too you should become familiar with). Go to farmers markets and get to know those who sell vegetables, eggs and meat locally, make contacts and exchange phone numbers. This will also become invaluable in the future. The time to become a prepper was over a decade ago, but being late is better than never.

Flying modern planes is literally a no-brainer these days. The maintenance is equally as easy.
