I see many “red-pillers” try to find inspiration in the animal world when it comes to issues of masculinity, diet & so on.
Don’t know if it’s the influence of Konrad Lorenz’s ethology, but there seems to be a real struggle in the post-religious West to rise *above* the animal.
I would say it's got more to do with their belief in Darwinism. Red pillers look to evolutionary biologists when it comes to explaining diet, masculinity, sex etc. That's why they love terms like alpha male, survival of the fittest, beta etc. The whole evolutionary psychology jargon is omnipresent. As a result, many end up accepting a sort of biological determinism, leading to the blackpill.

wolves lives more in family groups in the wild and ape societies are more democratic. Human societies are very hierarchical compared to animal ones so we might have alphas in our societies even though they don't exist with animals. But our alphas seem to be based more on wealth, social status etc not based on the same traits as in animals

Not quite. The most alpha in a group is the alpha. Alpha is relative. One can be alpha in one group but not another etc. Some are never alphas. If one possses the right stuff, one can also become an alpha.
