If one wants to learn a new language, what is the better option? I'm thinking of German, obviously, but I'm wonder if it's worth it at all? Currently I speak fluently Russian, English and Norwegian, albeit some of these I am better at than the others.
Also, what do you think of Hebrew?

Learning a language is a complete waste of time unless you plan to use it. And unless you're planning to move to a place that uses that language you'll probably never use it. The only exception is English because most of the internet is in English.

I'm a bookworm/scholar so I look at the literature. I knew this guy that had 5 university degrees with 35 languages under his belt. He was obsessed with Sir Richard Burton, the explorer. He had a $250k library. At one point he studied the pre muslim writings of what is now Saudi Arabia in this ancient language they used (not aramaic, or rather an archaic aramaic). He shook his head sadly and said "It wasn't worth the effort; it was all dreck, garbage, written by barbaric cretins".
For me, I learned French at 40, and I'm having a ball with it. I love all the memoirs and novels of the ancien regime and the revolution. I'm reading Barras' memoirs right now. You can feel the inspiration source for Balzac, Stendahl and Conrad.
If I was going to learn another language at this late date it would definitely be Italian. Dante, the renaissance. N. Italy is awesome. And I had a happy surprise early this week; I've never been able to read Italian, but my French reading skills are so high that I was looking at some Italian writing and I was able to understand it. Once you get a romance language, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, French, all open their doors to you. I'd love to be able to read Cervantes, or Camoens or be able to understand Frederico Fellini interviews.

This is bait and OP is a faggot. I live in a very multilingual part of the world, and I don't know anyone who speaks three languages who would be hurr duurr should I learn another one guize?? Which wun?
But, to take the bait and answer some of the burgers on here who think English is enough, I will add something to the debate. Firstly, English is the most mutt language in the world, it is the language of niggers, arabs, indians, turks.. they all speak English. If you only speak English then well done because your first and only language is "multiculturalism".
Other languages are the expression of other cultures and values, I don't have to expose my kids to American mutt culture, because I can give them things to read in the two other languages they speak. When they are old enough to read literature they will have access to the whole canon of Russian literature, in addition to their local language, and of course English. It would be so culturally crippling if my kids only spoke English, It would be so much harder to find appropriate things for them. Almost anything written in English these days is homo propaganda - especially stuff for kids. It is not like that AT ALL in Russian.
But for burgers, it's hard. You don't have your own language, you get taught mutt English as your first where everyone else has English as their travel, business and internet language. I recommend you leave America. America is multicultural. You can't even save it on the state level any more, let alone nationally. Anyone who doesn't want to live in multiculti should move to a monoethnic country. There are many to choose from. There you should study the local language and free yourselves from English.
How many of you burgers even have English ethnic heritage? You are more Irish / German / Russian anyway right? What is English to you?

For a high ROI rate a Westerner should consider Chinese and Russian primarily. By extension, one might look into learning Arabic and maybe even Farsi. Being able to overcome high language and, more importantly, cultural barriers makes you a valuable asset if you're dead set on studying them for a living.
