I recently visited Dominican republic and i noticed that all movies shown in TV are all honk Kong cinema with some American ones. Why is this?

Which movies specifically? I don't watch movies/tv anymore so I'm not aware of the details of the dismal state of cinema. Perhaps hk still makes good films? I mean if I could chose between Police Story and Batspider Wakanda Man III, I would watch Police Story.

I visited the Dominican Republic a year ago with my family, we didn’t really check out the movies because we were on a cruise. But the tv on the cruise ship had the commercials in Spanish and shows in English.

The TV channels there showcase a shit ton of hk cinema, your typical police story and what not, the English stuff are straight to DVD 90s action star flicks but I've mostly seen the Chinese stuff Spanish dubs.
