I have been making my own tea for several years now and I can attest that it is both better and cheaper than any tea I can find in grocery stores.
I would advice you to buy dried herbs at a store that specializes in herbs (should be cheap) and experiment with your own mixtures. Personally I don't even use tea leaves, just herbs. If you want to go full innawoods, you can also just forage your herbs. For example, mints and nettles are good herbs for tea and they are commonly found in Europe. Remember to check a botanical site or book if you have doubts about the plant you have found.
