Philosophers aren't aliens different from you and I. Most of them lived and live quite regular lives no worse nor better than any of us. Do you think moral philosophers are more moral than average Joe? There us a study showing that they're no more ethical than normal people etc.
Philosophers are thinkers, people engaged in questioning and seeking reasons. To that end only people who share those questions find their work interesting, and peoplenwjo don't simply have no interest nor should they.
