What happened to the Vedic religion, the religion of the Indo-Aryans of northern India? I don't really know where to look, any help would be appreciated. I imagine I'd have to go to India to find anyone that is perhaps practicing it?

There looks to be no active religion board so thought I'd ask here. Thanks for any help.

The Vedic religion died thousands of years ago because it was reformed by the shramana movement which pushed it out of style. Advaita Vedanta along with the Upanishads took over as the dominant mystical outlook, and the Bhakti movement changed the relationship to the gods and the form of ritual.

I don't understand what exactly you want to know. You can read what is left of the Vedas, most of it is dead boring ritual instructions from what I've read from others.

I don't really know what I want either lol. I guess I'm just not wholly satisfied with any modern religion so I figured some precursor religion may have better knowledge of life, liberty, everything.

I guess it just feels that religions have become so adulterated that I'm looking for something pure that is full of wisdom.
