Not all responses are equal though, the political existentialism one to me seems particularly weak. When I went through my first existential crisis, one of the things that struck me as the most pointless was politics. If political philosophy is about how humans should live their lives in relation to one another, what's the point of striving for any political goal if human existence is pointless in the first place?
Someday, one million years will have elapsed since this moment, and when it comes, all our conflicts, goals, hopes, and ambitions are going to seem pretty worthless and pathetic. Politics included.
I dunno, maybe it's satisfying for others, but for me it seems like a pretty weak response to the problem of existence which we all face.
