By being rationally hedonistic, just as a selfish society is rationally selfish. If your society runs on feels and myths, you get our history up to now.

Hedonism, as the philosophical school, doesn't mandate 24/7 Jersey Shore debauchery, just that the maximization of pleasure and the minimization of suffering is the greatest principle. You could say that many free market advocates use hedonism as their primary justification for it.

You're taking the unreasonable position that emotions are not necessary to logic. Logic itself is mere formalism, emotions are what move us to feel or do anything at all.

A logical being is just a machine that will execute a formula that will attempt to not violate formal axioms, yet there is nothing it actually cares about. Emotions are precisely a form of natural axiom that ensures there is a very personal attachment to that logical movement.

If we were to try to measure pleasure for the maximum amount of people, the best thing to do would just be readily available weed, entertainment, and government ordained courting systems for companionship.
