I find it ironic that Heidegger said that.

How did your dad know what Dasein means?

391397 No.2166

You posted this during the first week this board was up. Did you really have to repost it again with the exact same fucking post and picture you used last time?

He didn't...I read it out loud and upon hitting that, changed it to "in which people express themselves,"

Russia somewhat follows the fourth political theory already.

>first is Liberalism; focus is individual

>second is Communism; focus is classes

>third is faschism or nazism; focus on state, nation and/or race

>fourth is yet to be named, but it focuses on dasein

Why does he use a random german word instead of translating it?

Because a difference between the German and English languages is that it's apparently far easier to combine words in German. Dasein means "Being-there", and it's Heidegger's substitute for what other philosophers would otherwise call the "self" or "consciousness" or "individual" or "I".

So the translation would be: "...the most elemental words in which Being-there expresses itself..."

It's an adjective-preposition hyphenation, but is used as a noun in Heidegger's syntax while still including the descriptive and prepositional natures of the components.

This is what makes Heidegger difficult for people reading him in English: his philosophy centers around the original moment of experience prior to, and making possible, subject-object division. It's like the quantum physics of philosophy.

Bertrand Russell hated Heidegger because he couldn't even start to translate his grammar into those nice little math equations he ordinarily used to demonstrate that a person was using faulty logic. "You're wrong, but I can't prove it."

Yeah, some reason the word "adjective" popped into my head and I ran with it.
