The correct way to keep your counter IS NOT the streak, forget about the streak, it will only make things worse in the long run

Streak style counting: You nofap for x days and then relapse, since you glorified the x number and now that number is 0 you might start relapsing again and again because you'll start thinking that there's nothing to lose and you can start your streak later. Correct counting: After relapsing you don't wipe off the x number, you simply add a second number, so it would be the amount of days/amount of relapses, your number would now be x/1, you will not see a reason to relapse again because now you'll make your number twice as worse. Forget about the calendar for the same reason, it's just a way to delay your actions to the next monday/month/year, if you want to start then you're starting right now
Also everyone has probably heard of the test boost effects on every seventh day, I've personally never got those drastic boosts but because of my false expectations I relapsed after day 7 the first time I reached it. Just forget about the 7 day crap, it might be true for someone but for others like me the effects are going upwards very smoothly.
