Anyone care for shoegaze? What are your favourite bands and albums? Listened to this the other day it's pretty cool.

 No.99480

A band I would recommend, if you also like extreme metal, is Hybernoid. Blends shoegaze, gothic rock, crust punk, doom metal and death metal. Avoid their last one as it's all electronic techno. And I say that as a fan of industrial.

Pretty entry-level and has rhythm but if you don't know where to start give this a listen.

I'm looking for more fantastical, trippy, dreamy, and magical sounding music. I suppose it's best suited to this thread since OP pic is one of my favorites.

found these guys a while ago but have been listening to them a lot lately. a bit industrial darkwave-y and gothic but very good music to read or study to.

also DIIV, beach fossils, and What Moon Things are HQ picks. Someone Who Isn't Me by the latter has some of my favorite songs on it. Quit, Party Down The Street and Carpet Farm.

this might get you started. I'd personally prefer a traditional dream pop route, and if you enjoyed Candy Claws you might go that way. Anyway, here's some albums that might fill your cravings:

Paavoharju - Yhä hämärää

Asobi Seksu - Citrus

Lush - Split

LSD and the Search for God - S/T

DoZzz - Poem of Love ◇ Poem of Sadness

Slowdive - Souvlaki (kind of an essential if you are starting on dreampop shoegaze)

Ecstasy of St. Theresa - Pigment
