Just listened to I Have A Special Plan For This World and was wondering if there were any other albums that are, well spooky and unsettling

 No.94914

Oh man, I haven't heard anything by Current 93 in years.

I think Bucketheadland 2 is a good choice. It starts off as a normal metal album but gets fucking creepy.

the new Gas album this year was pretty spooky

Univers Zero is pretty spooky in general.

Try Heatwave or Heresie.

That looks like one of the shitty fake album covers I make in GIMP when I'm bored, hopefully it isn't indicative of the album's quality.

 No.94926

>>94922

it's pretty obvious that it's not as good as albums like Konigsforst and Pop but it's a good album still.

 No.94930

Do you wanna be unsettled or do you want the vibes of being unsettled.

That repeating texture becomes so obvious when you look at it from far away. I could legitimately do a better job on my pirated copy of Photoshop using only the Patch tool and the source photo.

yeah it's a bit shameful considering Gas' great track record of good album covers

You asking about some INSANECORE friendo? Music is a form of self-expression and the wonderful tunes of the mentally ill are like the screams of the damned, locked up in their defective prison of flesh for all eternity. Maybe you'll learn something about yourself.

Anon what the fuck are you talking about

Do.. do you even know what this thread is about?

OP asked for creepy albums, the charts you posted are completely unrelated to that.

There are a lot of great albums on there, no doubt, but Geogaddi, Druqks, Dopethrone, and And Justice For Y'all are not creepy albums.

Noise "music" doesn't count as creepy, either. Might as well listen to raw data in Audacity.

A good majority of them count.

Uh, Geogaddi is *VERY MUCH* a creepy album. It's just a lot subtler than most. The whole album is a concept album about an apocalypse cult.

How anyone can hear this and think, "This is innocent." Is beyond me.

 No.95048

>>95046

I don't think it has a definite concept behind it (or at least Mike and Marcus don't want to say it themselves), It always gives me visions of dark and inhumane cold war era science experiments. I think you can fully experience the album only by listening to it from beginning to end (including Magic Window) in one sitting.

They didn't give a definte answer, true, but they did say they were inspired by the Branch Davidian Waco, Texas incident and the mood post 9/11. Several songs have nuclear and culty vibes, so that was my interpretation.

That said, it's art so I don't think your interpretation is any less valid, though it sounds more like Tomorrow's Harvest, another creepy album by them.

>haha intense music they must be INSANE or take DRUGS

I hate this normalfag meme, but the folk recommendations on this chart are pretty good.

Drakengard's OST

I remember Aphex Twin once said that any time he's made music while high it's been complete shit, so he always does it sober.

Good rec. Most rock in opposition is spooky af
