Most albums are basically playlists anyway, i don't normally listen to playlists (always albums) but i have no problem with the concept tbh.

I tend to listen to the lastest singles i like in a sort of playlist way

Well, technically yeah, but it's different bc artist make and sort them in such way for some reason. And I believe by freely mixing and randomly picking a song to playlist is demeaning the purpose of the album itself, which is also, for some artist, another medium of art which allows music makers sort the track in some way.

I used to make my own playlist of old BoC tracks on youtube before I had anything.

It's probably a good way to find new artists, but I usually prefer doing albums, because it's more consistent, and you know you're not in for a bunch of garbage suddenly popping up.
