Promoters who call artists with barely any social media following are ALWAYS scam artists trying to fleece inexperienced musicians out of their money.
Also venues and labels KNOW when you're using promoter pushed numbers and will easily blacklist artists who do this. If you want to grow your fanbase do it through playing live and interacting with fans on social media
facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube, soundcloud, bandcamp and spotify/apple music are standard if you want to make it as a local musician. keep your money and focus on your songwriting and playing shows first! contacts with bands and local show promoters matter far more than some rando promoter who wants to "market you" to bots and bullshit
