Hi, /mu/. I just bought this album online, and it sounds like something /pol/ would write. Is he being genuine when he talks like he just got blackpilled, or is he trying to make a point? It sounds great, in my opinion, but I don't get it. What's the point? What was Roger Waters thinking whem he made this album?

never listened to it OP so i have no input

It's all just anti-capitalist, anti-consumerist rhetoric; champagne socialism at its finest. The intro (with the voiceover) is killer and the entire album holds up but it's also tired boring pop shit made to appeal to the Live Aid generation. There's nothing Roger hadn't said before on The Wall's "Empty Spaces" and after listening to AtD and learning its strengths and weaknesses there is nothing more the album offers. It's really just a nice album for hardcore fans of Roger Waters, nothing more than that but of course fans will think Roger is explaining the mystic secrets of the universe to them.

Aw, damn, that's disappointing. I figured he was making an anti-war statement, but that's even worse. Re-listening to "It's A Miracle" makes that more clear to me, though. I like Waters and his music, but this album is admittedly pretty pretentious. Thank you for explaining your take on it.
