This song sounds precisely like it came from a game from the 16-bit era (Turtles in Time, Mega Man X, and Sonic 3 immediately come to mind). Are there more songs out there that sound like video games?

Kids Mode: songs that actually come from video games.

Easy Mode: Chiptunes, songs that were deliberately composed with video games in mind.

Normal Mode: Songs that, while not deliberately meant to invoke a connection to video games, sound like them.

All of Chaos Theory, I liked Amon Tobin's earlier stuff so it was a good contrast to Out From Out Where.

Now onto normal mode.

>Depeche Mode

This one comes to mind. Also "Introspectre" or anything from Playing The Angel for that matter.

This song reminds me of playing Spyro as a kid.

Obviously there's a connection, but the break at 1:48 sounds straight out of the first Spyro game to me.

This demo piece, from the early 1960's, sounds like an 80's video game theme song.

For obvious reasons, some baroque compositions wouldn't be out of place in Castlevania games, especially apparent once one chiptunes them.

Embed related; as well as the "cover" that appeared on an arf once.

I know chiptunes/8-bit is a bit of a cheap trick for this topic, but I mean, this is a pretty good one after all.

This one isn't too far off from the 8-bit sound style, but it's not 8-bit. And it's definitely a goodie.

This Beethoven track always reminds me of Mario. I don't know if the devs used those for inspiration

God Mode: music you've made that belongs in video games. I think a lot of Tasty music and MrSuicideSheep artists deserve some honorable mentions in what is becoming the latest, common atmosphere for video games nowadays. But if you don't know about Ghostly then you're doing something wrong imo.

YMO's songs always sounds like video game music. It makes sense considering that they were a big influence on many video game composers, along with prog rock bands. Not to mention that some of their songs were just put into games like Touhou
