If republicanism was suddenly abolished in the US at this very moment, who do you think should ascend to the throne? My choice is for pic related (assuming Hoppe wouldn't be available)

>Kokesh
Isn't he an open borders faggot? My tentative first choice would be Llewellyn Rockwell. Hoppe is nice, but he's also not American–he should reign as king of Germany.

Obviously, a Jacobite succession for the United States and a crown for liberty. Fancy this: the Jacobite restoration, the annexation of Canada, and the North American Commonwealth; together an imperial throne and a Jacobite monarch of the North American land. This would make a separate line between England and America. Two separate paths.

I don't believe so, he seems incredibly patriotic from what I've seen of him. Plus, he's an absolute propertarian, which naturally means closed borders.

Assuming you meant to reply to >>6603 :
You would think, but not necessarily. Lots of voluntarists say they are against state borders because they want "free movement of people" or somesuch, not recognizing that forcing the borders open is very much an NAP violation, much more so than preventing Jose from crossing the border to chase gibs. I don't follow Kokesh closely, but from what I've heard of him he falls into that latter category–in particular, he seems to have done a debate with Molymeme in which he defended open borders.
>he's an absolute propertarian
Just to clarify, do you mean "propertarian" as in "someone who likes private property," or as in someone who partakes in Curt Doolittle's particular brand of autism?

Too true. But aren't they anywhere? If you're limiting your criteria to people that have actually run for office, then yes, Kokesh might be the least bad option. However, I don't think the political scene is the right place to be looking for monarchs. It's a fact of life that those who seek power tend to be the ones least suited to wielding it, no? It's one of the major criticisms of democracy. Therefore, any potential progenitor to a dynasty would be found outside of the pool of presidential hopefuls. I think it would be better to look for /ourguy/ intellectuals, or old-money magnates as potential monarchs, not politicians.

Hm, that's a very good point. That does make sense, but do you know any American philosophers who'd be good philosophers? I'm genuinely interested in the topic, so any recommendations would be appreciated

He's not exactly a philosopher, but I mentioned Lew Rockwell (founder of the Mises Institute) before. He's a little political for my taste–he never ran for office but he was a Congressional staffer at some point–but he seems to have abandoned the political game a long time ago, and prefers to focus on his loftier position at the Mises Institute, isolated from day-to-day political trivialities. There are other potential candidates I might think of, but the trouble is, most of them (such as Hoppe) aren't Americans, and thus wouldn't be good choices for an American monarch.
Before he ventured into political office, I might have said Donald Trump or one of his sons would have been a good contender, believe it or not. He's a wealthy business magnate, and thus has no incentive to claw and grab for power. His business is privately owned, rather than a public corporation, making it more monarchical. He delegates tasks to his heirs, in the way a monarch would–each of his three oldest children is a VP in the Trump Organization, and they act as a group of informal advisors against which he weighs the suggestions of his formal advisors. This is very similar to how a monarch treats his heirs during his reign, right down to the way each child has a general area of specialty. And of course, Trump has always shown to understand the value of affluence and splendour in maintaining a dynasty.

True that about Trump, too bad he turned out to be more of a neocon (better than most, but a neocon nonetheless)

you think it's (((You)))
A monarchist could accuse the republicans with the same thing.
>you want to overthrow the king? Oh, so you think you'll become the next president? Ha!, how delusional.
