Hello /miku/!
It looks like board rings are going to be a thing:
https://8ch.net/boards/res/4539.htmlWhat do you think about this?
https://8ch.net/boards/res/4505.htmlIt looks like
>>>/tomoko/ and
>>>/w/ are on board.

>>5120By the way I hope you don't mind the ad, my apologies if it irritates anyone.

Being part of an anime board ring? I would like that.
I hope the board owner agrees.

>>5120I get the feeling that this is the kind of thing that could attract the kind of people we would rather not see here.

>>5137If they post they need to follow the rules.
If it causes trouble you can pull out.

>>5138 /Miku/ has been a board of the week for only a short time, and within that time there has been more problems than from when the board was made until just before /Miku/ was a featured board.
>If it causes trouble you can pull out. That is true, but the undesirable people that came in wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.
She's the single most important thing in my life, and I just want to do all I can to keep her safe.
No.5140
>>5139Frankly, do you have any issues with banning troublemakers? I don't want to cause you trouble, you must understand.
If the net effect is not good it isn't worth it.
No.5141
>>5140/miku/ has a very specific topic, so isn't it fairly easy to moderate, being that there is no real vagueness in what posts belong here?
No.5142
>>5139>/Miku/ has been a board of the week for only a short time, and within that time there has been more problems than from when the board was made until just before /Miku/ was a featured board.I've only seen a Spiderman post and a Bane thread, Did anything else happen?
It's not like we didn't have this sort of problem before, like /sp/ and /int/ spamming for gets.
No.5143
>>5140I have no problems with people being banned if they deserve it, but that doesn't stop many of the people that have a dynamic IP address or if they have a smartphone.
I know you have no desire to harm this board in any way, but the more people that see a link to /Miku/, the more likely there is going to be people that decide to break rules. The worst part is that simply being rude isn't a bannable offence. If you look around this board you will find that everyone here is very kind to each other; many people that visit 8chan are not like this at all. Too many people in too short a time can ruin something somewhat unique to /Miku/.
>>5142We had two Bane threads made. I saw the Spiderman post as well.
And that was just in the last day. I'm more talking about the YouTube tier comments that I have seen around here lately. I don't mean to offend anyone, but comments that look more like those on YouTube are something I really don't like. It's not like you can, or even should, ban someone for making a dumb post either.
No.5144
>>5143I see and understand your point of view. I wish your community the best; I intend to post here from here on
minus the tripI doubt you will get many persistent ban dodging people. I just don't see the occasional spammer or funposter managing to damadge your community.
I'm getting some sleep; I'll point out that you also have the option of watching how this effects /tomoko/ and /w/.
/a/ has also decided to do a similar program where they rotate a few anime boards to be featured every week now. This might have something to do with the old BO stepping down.
it has not effected /tomoko/ so farNo effect on /w/ so far eithertoo early to tell possiblyAnyway, again I wish your community the best and hope you can come to a conclusion without issue.
BTW, why not add
>>>/w/, or
>>>/tomoko/ at least? They are focused boards like yours, and have no tendency to funpost.
No.5145
>>5143Yes, I banned the poster when he made the thread a second time.
>YouTube tier commentsI haven't seen any recent posts that seem YouTube tier to me. Looking at the 100 most recent posts, almost all of them come from people who already posted at least once since last month.
I can see why you are worried though.
>>5144Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoy it here.

I wonder what will become of this…

I like the relative isolation of this board.
No.5150
>>5149It might sound like a cold attitude, but I have to agree.
No.5158
>>5149>>5150Personally, I don't really mind I wanted to help speed up some of the the smaller boards, but if the people on the boards would rather not, that is fine by me. This is to help after all, not cause trouble.
On the other hand, I would love to see you guys put up a link to a place like >>>/w/; it would not effect your board and would helpful to another board. I'm still hoping to get some boards to put links up themselves, rather than the other way around if possible.

>>5158Shitposting is a serious problem in the 4v MM threads, so most people here are wary of outsiders.
In any case, you'll have to consult with the owner, but he rarely makes an appearance.
No.5161
>>5160He will see this thread sooner or later. I am not in much of a rush anymore.
The 4v MM threads are usually hosted ootside of
>>>/miku/, am I wrong?
No.5162
>>5160>Shitposting is a serious problem in the 4v MM threads, so most people here are wary of outsiders. This is the best way anyone could describe it. We are cautious when it comes to the haven we call /Miku/.
And no one can deny that many of the people that go to 4chan go to 8chan as well, that means we have the same kind of trouble makers here and there. The main difference is that they haven't found /Miku/ yet, and I would rather keep it that way.
>>5161You are correct, the threads are made every Monday on 4chan's /v/ board.
No.5163
>>51614v MM is MikuMonday on 4chans /v/, on Mondays only.
The /miku/ MM threads are an extension of those for people after the /v/ threads. There are a lot of people who only frequent the /v/ threads but a few regulars like to stay longer than that, and come here usually.
No.5164
>>5162>>5163I see what you mean. You don't want to be found by the troublemakers, or lots of them at least. I suppose you will be visited by them every now and then, but as long as lots don't come at once it probably won't be an issue I would think.
At the moment what I am advocating is for some boards to put up links to each other; if both boards are fine. It doesn't even have to be both ways I think.
No.5165
>>5162Actually, the board owner should probally request that
>>>/a/ does not link to them next week if traffic from
>>>/a/ is unwanted.
I don't think
>>>/am/ will put up a link to you without permission, so that should be fine one way or another.
No.5166
In the meanwhile, I'll check those other boards.
No.5314
>>5312I agree. Also
>>>/cute/ is slightly more active than
>>>/c/, you can also consider it I guess.
>>5313And sorry I acted on instinct, though you were a repeat offender pls don't punish me No.5319
>>5314No it's fine I thought it was funny, I honestly didn't think anybody was even browsing and right when I went to submit my second post it told me I was banned, kek. you hothead. reminder to take it easy
I skipped out for a couple days since I went out of town I guess I missed all of the baneposters we got from being in boards of the week
also damnit hotwheels my name keeps messing up
No.5320
>>5319I'm on duty most of the time. We didn't get that many baneposts though, it's just that being a board of the week makes me and everyone else a little paranoid. (I even unbanned you before I realized it was you, I think)
You're right though, I should take it easy or else I'm not different from 4/v/'s hotpocket munchers.
>also damnit hotwheels my name keeps messing upI know, that happens to me a lot too.
No.5322
I can't say I'm terribly interested in the board rings idea.
While I agree that it would be nice for there to be more activity here I also really enjoy the comfy nature that we have now. And as others have already said it wouldn't take much to ruin that.
No.5337
The board moves kind of slow, yeah, but I think that's fine. I like it how it is.
No.5343
Personally, I don't think it would do any harm. Even being featured on the front page hasn't really attracted many shitposters or shifted the board culture toward nastiness. If exposing the board to the /v/, /b/, and /gamergate/ crowd didn't do it, then a link from topically related boards wouldn't.
Also /miku/ has been linked several times from threads in /mu/, and while the /mu/ threads contained shitposts, none of those people came here to disrupt anything.
(sage because meta thread)
No.5344
>>5343I think so too. A small ring with /c/ and /w/ could work, and there wouldn't be a noticeable change in pace anyway. It would just be sharing some users between the boards, and neither of those boards contain undesirable posters.
