So I was playing IA/VT these days. Today I finally completed the main set of songs, all 60 of them, on Easy. I know, I know >Easy, but I like to take it slow and get familiar with the song selection, the charts and gameplay, then move to Normal and Hard. (Not that Easy wasn't kicking my butt).

I gotta say, it's real comfy playing in bed with all the bright, vivid colors dancing, putting me in a trance. Maybe it was because of that and lying on my back, wrapped in sheets, that I just couldn't concentrate. It was a strange state of mind where you feel sleepy without being sleepy, like you don't know if you are dreaming, it feels calm and easy, so basically I couldn't be arsed to pay attention to the charts. I'm just trying to say I sucked all right?

Okay, so without any more whining about being bad at the game, (on EASY), then like I reached the last few songs and was a few points shy of Level 30, so I couldn't unlock the next set of songs even though I played some on Normal too. I decided to try some from the DLC and I have to add I'm pretty glad I got a SSS Perfect on both UtataP songs first try. I even took a screenshot, but that's besides the point.

The second UtataP song got me over the edge and unlike previously where I unlocked a set of 4 songs I got just one called Summertime Record. "Wait a minute, now where have I heard that name before?" Play song. Oh God, the Feels. song ends, credits song starts, "Wait? It was the last song?" Oh God, there are no brakes on this Feels Train. The credits song is also the Opening song. Why can't I hold all these feels?

Last 3 bonus songs unlock. I play the first one. "IA, Staphh, I'm supposed to be playing this on Easy. Why did they tell me this game was a piece of cake to get Perfects?"

Ups, I forgot to stop whining after I said I would.

I didn't expect there to be that many songs, with the DLC and the Tutorial/Credits versions of the Main Intro song, they reach a total of more or less 80 songs. 19 DLC ones but I have only 15 or 17 of them.

So I completed the DLC songs and replayed some of the old ones to see what I really liked and if I could get me some Perfects on my favorites. I wish I knew what Daily Play was before I unlocked all the songs. I feel like the game had a very strong selection, with some of the best being DLC unfortunately.

I have 17 of the DLC songs and that leaves exactly two free slots on the alternative song select menu that comes up if you press triangle. Apart from being very pleasing to my OCD, the fact that the 19 DLC songs fit so snugly on the menu, made me thing that they were pre-planned or possibly cut to get sold later. No surprise there, same as them being some of the best in the game was no coincidence, considering you have to pay extra to get them.

I feel the game had some really strong songs in the beginning, with some meh songs in the middle, the odd exception here and there and then a few strong songs aging at the end (not counting DLC), but even the meh songs were the kind that grew on me with each consecutive try.

The quality of the DLC songs made me wish I had enough room on my memory card for the last two of them, just to see with what they would end the game. From the 17 songs I had, the first 5 were live PV, Utata's ウラギリモジュール included. That song also has, in my opinion, the best costume module "Cyber Elf", but I think versions of that outfit can be unlocked with Step Up Play even without the DLC. In fact the DLC adds 20 costumes but I'm not sure if they aren't just recolors of existing ones, it adds a Neko Maid outfit and some others.

Ah the sweet, magical world where SAFE is actually safe. UtataP's DLC song. I was going to make a meme picture that went

"Gee, IA, how come your publisher let's you have two UtataP songs?"

But never got around to it. Still have the components for it saved somewhere.

This song is crazy, even on easy. My first try. The DLC had two or three songs a pack or something. I noticed some were relatively easy while the others were balls to the wall insane.

One of the best songs in the game. It's one of the songs towards the end from the DLC. The DLC had some really nice songs all in all.
