Hopefully i can explain it. Being a tumor is a very specific state of being. It's not really a normalfag thing, although it's obvious there are posers posting on the board.
I've been a tumor for years, but only now had a label to describe the decayed state of my life. The tumor meme was simply a label i latched onto - it was a way to share an experience with others across the world in a similar situation. Sure it was a child rapist meme, but it became something more, something far less child rapist than the original meme was. You can tell the difference between a /tumor/ meme and a facebook version of it by the redpills or the absolute state of depression depicted within it. It's simple, and obvious too.
Of course, most tumors aren't simply mentally ill, but also ideological extremists. My life has been ruined in part due to the sheer amount of redpills i've taken. I'm literally doomed to either die for my beliefs, or to abandon them and attempt to live with that. I think it would be better to die for my beliefs anyways.
/tumor/ seems more like a board for depression specifically, and all of the derangement that comes with it. Simply being depressed doesn't make you a tumor - being depressed for so long that you've forgotten what's right or wrong, good or bad, real or fake is.
Anyways, as far as being a child rapist goes, i can tell you i'm certainly not one, nor are many other posters on /tumor/. When using /r9k/ terminology, most tumors are "cyborgs", able to function decently in society, but either failing to do so or despising the idea of doing so. Personally, i hate child rapists to the extent that i hardly choose to talk to them, but if i have to i can talk with them for hours. It's really tiring to do that, however, as i don't care about literally anything normalfag daypeople care about.
