I don't really laugh at the more "artsy" videos such as Crush500/HWD, ideas man, or world peace. At best I curl my lips in amusement. The only videos I find funny are vertical phone videos, hydewars, moms, sam's public videos, and mde interviews/pranks.
Am I just a simpleton or what? I also don't get the point of the flashy psychedelic visuals, they're pretty cool I guess but it seems that 90% of the editing goes into applying visual effects and music over people talking and animating complicated transition slides. I don't get it

i don't think you're alone. i feel the exact same way.
only diff is that i wasn't a huge fan of moms but it was still kinda funny and i watched it multiple times
i think inconvenient anime was one of the best. i just think the old charm of the vertical videos is completely missing from everything recent

if you cant see that whatever. he calls back to old tech and old aesthetics, personally i love it. he went to a fancy art school and hes not doing fancy art or gay corporate creativity, he is channeling his youth. the visual/style references to the 90s and early 2ks is sick, he has a real eye for it and love for it and it shows. thats my view
