I'm surprised by how many people hated this. I laughed hard a few times at the first half. I agree it's a little slow, but it's really not that bad and it was really still funny. The worst part of the whole thing was >>22044 . It hurts the work when someone involved with it so obviously doesn't give a shit about it or isn't comfortable with it. Not trying to pour scorn on Nick, just saying it shows that he's not 100% comfortable and committed and it compromises the video a bit.

Sam's part was really bloated, though. This seems like a chronic problem with him, going on for too long and repeating similar things, etc. There are some really good jokes buried in there, but they're like 10% of what's there. The fat guy portions of HWD E03 are another great example of this problem.

Overall, I liked it, especially the first half, but I do hope the later episodes are more focused and funny.

good comedy is all about the audience trusting the performer/creator - if you know the person is funny then if they're just standing there, you'll laugh because you know they're 'up to something'. You look at some blank expression they have and laugh because you have confidence there's something funny in their mind. The problem is nobody on here trusts sam is funny any more because of the current atmosphere so the same video that would have been funny before seems boring. Agreed, it was a really great return to form. I totally understand the complaints about pacing in HWD3, but Theatre of the Aire is a TIGHT little piece. I think people get very fixated on one genre of MDE's output that they like best and forget how eclectic their body of work has been throughout the years. I'm looking forward to KSTV2 a ton, because that's some of my favorite type of stuff Sam has done in the past but more theatre and the car reviews are good and very mde too.
