i have started a new board >>>/1917/

it's a free speech / open discussion board. i'm trying to get a mix of ideologies. honestly i get the feeling some of us are visiting 3 or 4 boards a day simply to find 1 or 2 good threads.

moderation zealots ruined countless communities, leftypol is a recent example

now you get banned for "not arguing in good faith" whatever that means

mods can't even consistently enforce board's rules because rules are a fucking mess because BO is a fucking brainlet paranoiac and a control freak who couldn't be arsed into understanding the concept of a strict legal codex even if his life depended on it

with 1.5 half dead mods shit rules were not a problem

but now BO has a bunch of zealots on a witch hunting crusade

I know very well. I'm asking for threads that are within the board's topic. If I wanted a /b/ I'd go there or make one. Porn and gore, unless within some context is related to the discussion and can be considered proof, has no place on the board, and is usually, but not always, removed. Starting a thread that has no real topic other than "haha, give me replies," is worthy of being removed. And don't give me the "but it can still turn into a good discussion!" tripe. So can any other existing thread.

I'm not asking for more than that or less. I know very well what biased moderation leads to. I evacuated from 4pol years ago.

Nobody who wants to have a purposeful discussion means "let's have literally NO rules at all, or else we ain't free."

Shouting inside a crowded room is free speech. Being removed for being disruptive is all within sensibility. You can't silence someone's voice if they straight up have nothing to say. If you've organized a place or an event to discuss something specific and someone brings out a completely unrelated discussion, freedom of speech doesn't help them as it is not freedom to vent and project on others.
