need to retain at least enough power to defend yourself and property, probably collaborate on this to defend your (strictly ancap) society

while we would like that nobody does this, it cannot be ignored that some are doing it

geopolitics is in akward position. on the one hand china etc are literal commies. on the other america and most of the west is lab-grade ZOG. as a result we need to somehow figure out a place among those and a foreign policy we ensures we dont just become a price theyre fighting over

There are legal wars, or to be more accurate, just wars. Wars in defense of your liberty and property are perfectly justified. To shoot at the planes, the soldiers, or to destroy the tanks of some invading army that wishes to subjugate you or otherwise assert through force their hegemony over you is just, in my opinion. I know some Libertarians are always opposed to war because usually the ones fighting it were enslaved by their own state, though.

I have some sympathy for the Just War doctrine, but yes, it's hardly applicable these days, when wars are a compeletely public affair. Taxation is increased, civil rights are curbed, and young men are drafted into the army to die in a country they never heard of. Civilians in the enemy country are hardly spared either. Under these circumstances, there can be no such thing as a just war.
