Alright, /liberty/. Yellowpill me on firemen. I understand the arguments perfectly well for why private firemen/insurance discounts for following fire code work better than state-funded firemen, but as far as I can tell, if I owned a restaurant, firemen are the only group of government workers I'd be willing to give a discount to because almost all the issues I hear about the fire department are either caused by non-firemen interfering in firefighting, or military firemen dumping toxic chemicals into the ground to put out military base fires (and we already know the military is a shit).

I want examples, facts, shit showing that firemen are bad and not just the bureaucracy surrounding them. We know the cops are pigs, post office workers are corrupt, and DMV workers deserve a .50Cal through the genitals and/or skull, but what about the firefighters?

as far as I know firemen are okay, I just think they would be better managed if they had competition instead of a monopoly and that I should not be forced to pay for them especially if I live in bumfuck no-where where they will never reach anyway

You have never met a volunteer fire fighter?

I live in Colorado. There's volunteer firefighters galore and they're good people. I'm looking for examples of bad firefighters, not of privatization.

Some years back there was that fire chief or a member of a fire department that was responsible for a number of high-profile arsons. I can't remember where or how long ago.
