What does /liberty/ think of the DACA thing? I know, in the ideal scenario, everyone would have their own borders around their private property and things like national borders and immigration would be a non issue. But since it currently is an issue, what do you think is the right move? Physically remove the fruit picking geniuses or let them stay?

I don't see how 'Dreamers' are more in breach of the NAP than an average person living in a welfare state, just because the state doesn't recognise their status.

Legal citizens claim welfare too.

What's the worst that could happen?

It's a very tough issue for me personally. While ultimately "open borders" (I use that term loosely) benefit everyone, I suffer as a direct result of folks from across the border coming here and working under the table given my profession, and it's extremely unfair to bump minors to the top of the list simply because their parents happened to sneak them in while they were young. DACA is largely being abused by Mexicans shuffling in through California (and to a lesser extent Texas), where nearly a million of 'em apply for its status every year. It was meant as a means for low-crime low-priority individuals to get in under the system, but at least in California these folks tend to come from violent surroundings in the first place.

There's no right answer given it's just one more restriction on immigration, but the kind of people who qualify for DACA are the kind of people who legitimately "take my job" in the electronics field after they graduate high school by working for $5/hour so it's pretty difficult to feel sympathetic for them.

as long as I am in a democracy, open borders means more people coming in to tell me what to do

as long as I am in a socialist state open borders means more people demanding mine and other peoples money

as long as I am in a prohibition state, open borders will bring the violence that smuggling brings

for so long as these things are true open borders are like a shackle upon me as far as liberty goes and is pragmatically unsound as well, so I shall oppose it

Dreamers aren't eligible for welfare.

let them stay

when many people go certain track they co-create that track because it leads to grass not growing there so the track becomes public and no one can privatize it
