If something is a stereotype, that's indeed often because there once was a core of truth to it. However, how that knowledge is received also plays a role in what the stereotype is. Sometimes, a stereotype may even be entirely without truth, usually when it's the result of propaganda. So yeah, you won't get around to judging this on a case-by-case basis.

Some of them have some truth to them. "Polish people are shitposters, retards and animals" may serve as an example.

"Christcucks are retarded uneducated authoritans" is generally true.

Stereotypes and archetypes are just 'cultural shorthand', for better or worse.

stereotypes are generalizations, and that dosnt make them inherently true or untrue.

when it comes to people, I think there is often value to be found by not immediately acting on them, for example a black man statistically speaking is a violent low IQ thug, but if a business acts on this in a blanket manner there are customers they will never have, and had I acted on this in a blanket manner there are friends I never would have made

for example when one native american was taken to europe in age of discovery then people thought that every native american spoke that guy's language what is untrue and it is not a generalization becasuse it could happen that that guy's language was unpopular language among native americans
