It's the exact opposite. Consumer sovereignty is true sovereignty and forces companies to make good products; political sovereignty is fake and gets nothing done.

I also think this is untrue. I would associate austerity with a low peak and then a rapid recovery, and high spending with a moderate, but prolonged, depression
