Yes, because it's coercive. And that's not a technicality. To save people from themselves, you have to use violence. Immense violence, probably. When the self-mutilation was deliberately planned, then that might mean locking him up, tying him up, keeping him isolated from the outside world and possibly brainwashing him. And knowing paternalists, they will refuse to be held accountable if their forced therapy failed. Not once in my entire life have I seen a paternalist who asked to be punished for not getting results, yet they all justify their actions with the results they'll bring. What they actually want, though, is for them to be justified by their own good intentions.

Personally, I couldn't care less if someone I don't know decides to mutilate himself for kink. There's too much evil happening already for me to give an extra fuck about degenerates with a high time preference.

No I mean we can really be really careful and civil about it. I would literally do the same thing if I was a rich as fuck Native American. I would kidnap alcohol abuse victims and try to fix them.

How do you transport him? Do you gag him? What fo you do if he gets a panic attack? Let him breathe through a gag? Or sedate him? What if he took drugs and now they interact with the tranquilizer?

By the way, many of these alcohol abuse victims? They're still somewhat functioning and have a family to support. If the victim is a manager who drinks himself half to death every two months, would you be willing to pay his family the fifty thousand a month that he otherwise would've worked for?
