You don't understand… Fluffy fandom isn't ruined in the "there's content I don't like" sense, it's ruined in the "the fandom has been taken over by another, completely opposite fandom that does everything it can to make people hate everything about it."

It's like if a fandom about cute girls got overtaken by people who like traps, who'd then go on to advertise it as a fandom that's all about dicks and sucking dicks and big-dicked men who just look like girls. No straight person would want to join a fandom like that, and as the amount of gay art increased, more and more of the old artists would leave because searching for pictures of the girls in a sea of traps and surprise dicks is not even worth the effort anymore.

And just like fans of hellgremlins, the fans of traps wouldn't see a problem with this. After all, if they're okay pictures where the characters don't have a visible boner, then everyone else should be just as okay with pictures where they do have a boner, right?

It gets even worse with them trying to compromise: "Maybe the characters were once girls, but they have naturally grown penises over time." "They CAN be girls in certain situations if they try hard enough, but their dicks can pop out at any moment." "There are girls at dedicated straight clubs, but everyone else in the world is a trap."

Even the trap comparison doesn't sufficiently explain how bad the situation of fluffies is. As I mentioned, the hellgremlins are about HATING the fluffies, so not only are they turning the fandom to the opposite of what it was, they're making it as infuriating and rage-inducing as possible. Hate is the only emotion hellgremlins are intended to invoke at any means possible, so having to browse through them is not only unpleasant, it's purposefully pissing you off! While 4channers already spend their time yelling and getting yelled at by trolling teenagers, that is not what most people want to spend their time on. Because of hellgremlins, the fluffy fandom has turned into a source of nothing but pure negativity.

Segregation is the only solution I can see. Make a group for people who feel the way you do and keep to yourselves. Ban any of these subversives that wander into your group.

I thought so too, but it hasn't worked. Fluffybooru is still where most of both old and new art is located, so whenever someone gets interested about the fandom, that's inevitably where they go to. And since the hg-fandom fights any attempts to even tag their stuff as such, anyone going there will either hate it and leave the fandom or hate it and stay there to hate it more.

Sorry to hear that, but at least anime will never get completely replaced by Shrek and Cory in the House. Those who make anime don't have to work exclusively in those trolled threads, so there's no way spammers could stop anime from being produced by driving all the content creators away.

Also, just for information: The oldschool fluffies being SFW is a strawman many hellgremlinists like to beat, but it's entirely false. Fluffies ending up in Happy Tree Friends-style disasters has always been the largest appeal of the fandom, but the point is that they've been the victims rather than villains. A typical fluffy story would be a fluffy trying to pull a can of spaghetti down from a table and braining itself with it, while a typical hellgremlin story would be (and half the time is) a fluffy forcing its own baby to eat shit. The difference isn't whether it's SFW or NSFW, it's in whether it makes you laugh at schadenfreude or enraged against the fluffies.

Good news everyone! Since the fluffies got banned from /b/ the influx of new hellgremlin fans have ceased, and nowadays only the fluffybooru.org remains as their containment site. The hellgremlin fans have finally split into their own closed circle, while literally all other boards and sites follow the classic fluffy fandom. Without a central site like the fluffybooru the fandom is still weak and scattered, but I'm hoping the old site at http://fluffy.booru.org/ could be reawakened as the new hub for the fandom.

Here's my favorite fluffy story. It's long, but pretty much every line of it is fluffy gold so it gets good fast and stays that way till the end.

It also has a surprising story despite being completely grounded, which is something to recommend in itself. I'm usually a fan of adventures of epic scale, but this makes a great personal arc just from the narrators experiences and how it changes the way he thinks of the fluffies.

I am way too empathetic in real life. I have been abused myself, and can't even enjoy shows like Game of Thrones because seeing evil win and innocents suffer hits too close to home. However, fluffies are so over-the-top saccharine that the cute aggression flips the empathy over, and for the first time ever I can actually identify more with the abusers than their victims. Being able to watch cute, innocent creatures suffering without getting sad is a really strange feeling, like binaural stimulation for a part of brain you didn't know you had.

On a more serious note, my therapist actually encourages me to keep drawing fluffies, since they work as a way to deal with my own past experiences without being overwhelmed by them. I don't want to cause anyone suffering in the real world, so fluffies serve as a good dumping point for all the malice and violence I don't want to pass on.
