 No.30152>>30157 [Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

Can we set up some kind of secure bitcoin account /kind/ anons can donate to and borrow from? Or something of the sort anyway, it'd be a lot of work keeping it secure and ensuring proper and fair use of it but I'm really tired of all the threads begging for money.

 No.30153

bitcoin because we're probably from all over the world so eruos, usd, etc. won't be help to a lot of people.

Once my full time job becomes secure I wouldn't mind kicking in $50-100 a month if I can be more or less sure it's going to friends who really need it, who are taking just what they need out of it.

 No.30156>>30159

Bad idea.

 No.30157>>30165

>>30152 (OP)

Also.

>I'm really tired of all the threads begging for money

What? We just have the one containment thread, and any other begging threads are old as dirt. If you can't handle seeing that one containment thread you can hide it.

agreed. As much as I would like to help broke anon over at >>30113 buy some groceries, I just cannot see any situation where it doesn't get taken advantage of.

 No.30164

As admirable as that is, and I'm sure there are situations where people really need it, there is a far far higher chance it will just get taken advantage of unfortunately.

 No.30165>>30166

>>30157

there's this >>30113 at the top of the catalog right now and one pops up every few weeks

 No.30166

>>30165

The OP of that thread is asking for advice, not money, and there hasn't been a begging thread made after the containment thread was changed to accommodate that sort of content, which was over two months ago.

 No.30177>>30179

Why is half the posts on this board related to begging for money? I have never encountered this on the Internet. What the hell

Actually, out of the last 200 posts (which covers the span of about 8 days) on this board, 4.5% (9) of them contain begging or discussion about begging. Most of it's ITT. Why? Because it was complained about in the OP.

>borrow from

Sounds nice, but soon enough some guys gonna come along and take all of it. There's not much reason to set up an account if people could just willy nilly take money, it would be gone in less than five minutes.

Friend, I know the feeling when you have a seemingly great idea, you show people and they reject it. It sucks. Just stick in there and think more ideas, eventually you'll come up with something great. c:

I realize that, that's the reason I'm asking because I wouldn't know how to make or keep this kinda thing secure myself.

 No.30239>>30240

What about bitcoin mining? Could we make or join a mining pool to get bitcoins?

 No.30240>>30251

>>30239

How does this solve the problem of it being taken advantage of by whoever has access to the funds?

Thank you for the statistics, scientist lady from Saya, but I still don't like the talks about money here out of all places on the Internet.

I browse sites like bandcamp and once in 500 albums I find some obscure, unknown music that sounds interesting. And so I donate money to such artists. I'd encourage any people with money here to do the same instead of donating to people here… I think there's at least 60% chance that the person in need spends money on shallow entertainment like shows, games, anime, unhealthy food, popculture addictions. I know it because you guys are just like me and I do it. Yeah, there are people here with ADD and from abusive families. We can't trust their own neurochemistry, so don't trust us with you money

 No.30242

>>30241

I wanted to say "we can't trust our own neurochemistry, so don't trust us with your money"

I mean, 7 out of 10 people here are not very nice people. I've been on imageboards like this for at least 10 years and I know psychological archetypes around here, often find myself in posts of anons. By supporting people here with money, you're supporting companies who shit on shelves of shops with sugar crap and you're supporting companies that engineer addictive, shallow entertainment for people with problems

 No.30245

agreed. As much as I would like to help broke anon over at >>30113 buy some groceries, I just cannot see any situation where it doesn't get taken advantage of.

This, best thing would be to make self help threads and groups maybe?

Teach people how to help themselves etc etc

I read up about it a bit and thought it might be a good idea but I'm new to the idea myself so I don't know much about the software and hardware required to make it work.

Supposedly everyone in the pool gets equally much of each block profit by default. That means total block profit devided by miners in the pool. If the pool gets too big (too many others join it) you could just quit the pool and join another I think. Its just an idea based on what I've read about it.
