Hello /k/ ikes and glow niggers,

As things continue to spiral towards chaos, I keep thinking of possible bug out locations and am wondering about buying a dirt bike to get me further innawoods than with only a car/hiking

Is it worth trying to find good spot and using the dirt bike to make a number of trips with supplies? Am I a retard for thinking I can sneak in the woods with a loud bike?

It's not a bad idea, OP, but it's not a great idea either. I would say it will get you out of the city in a pinch, but not too far innawoods. Think of the scene from the movie "Deep Impact" when all the normies are trying to get out of NYC at the same time and end up gridlocked on the highway. The kid grabs a backpack sized go-bag (not some ridiculous 40 pound bug out bag), his girlfriend, and gets the hell outta town on his dirt bike, blowing past the traffic jam, and up a mountain side. With the forest, just like a mountain, there's going to be brush and bush and obstacles. That dirt bike will only be good on an established bike trail. I'd say it's a good option for getting TO the woods, but not innawoods. That's where your hike begins. Invest in good military grade boots and socks. The most important thing is to figure out where you're going to bug out to first. Top priority is water. You have 72 hours to find a renewable supply of fresh drinking water. If you live near a forest, I'd do some hiking and find a stream or lake. Food is the next order of business. Then shelter. If you can find a spot like this innawoods, it might make for a good waypoint en route to your bug out destination, or you might decide to become Grizzly Adams and build a cabin there. If you pack a shovel and a tarp, you could make a spider hole. You could build the spider hole ahead of time actually, so you've already got a shelter waiting for poop hitting spinning blades. A natural cave would be a great option too. Lucky for me, I know of a place with a cave near a fishing lake. Unlucky for me, I'm probably not the only person who's thought of that cave, so I might have company. I wouldn't have that problem with a spider hole. It's also convenient that I've already dug my own grave ahead of time. :^)

Just like you, the people in the movie "Deep Impact" didn't know where they're going. They're just trying to get out of the city. I don't see a bug out like this happening, although it could. I believe what is most likely to happen is an economic collapse. Start learning how people survived during the Great Depression. If you think that "the end is nigh," you might want to consider moving to a more rural area near a stream or creek. Or have well water drilled on your land. That's what I'm saving up for. I want a home that's tactical and able to function off grid, but not so MIL'd up that it looks like a bunker. Well water, solar panels, fruit trees, and a nice garden, near a wooded area so I have a huge supply of firewood and maybe trap and pew pew some wild animals if I'm lucky.

If/when I do live in that home, I'd buy a 4wheeler. Yeah! If I drop a deer on the hillside, a quad will get it back to the house. A quad would also be able to support my 40 lb bushcraft bug out bag. A quad will handle the wooded terrain much easier than a dirtbike. I can even haul around bulk ammo and fuel with it. Food, water, 6 pack of beer and a tackle box. Like you said though, there's no sneaking around on something this loud. A 4wheeler is a good bit quieter than a dirt bike though. Go to any ranch or rural farm and see what they own. 4wheelers.

tl;dr Buy a 4wheeler.

Good topic, OP. Your thread got my noggin joggin and now I'm taking my own advice and doing a bit of shopping. Check out this video and watching these machines at work innawoods. There's a reason why hunters buy these ATVs. I think after watching, you'll decide it to be your best option as well.
