Do they regulate RC planes in the same manner?
Ever since (((some guy))) flew a DJI drone carrying "radioactive soild" on top of the PM's residence, the Japanese government regulates drones by
a) although unnecessay for most models, usage of radio waves such so that controlling some drones requires you to have an amateur ham radio license.
b) having to fill in forms and "flight plans" (intent of flying drone, how to assure safety etc) to fly drones and RC planes above a certain weight in areas designated as A,B,C zones -each representing airports and flight paths, high density urban areas, and anywhere higher than 150m from ground level respectively.
Otherwise you're free to fly drones in any other areas for any reason; it's not that great since you can't even use them in parks.
