65e756 No.552292

What happens if the opposite of BF2142 happens and the temperature rises with all the ice melting?

Jungle areas would become desert and temperate areas would become jungle, while the far north would become temperate.

At least one key event would be the new land availability in the far north and south, Siberia, Greenland, and Northern Canada would become useful with the Arctic becoming a naval battlefield. Whatever resources lie under the ice of Antarctica would also become available and it too would become competitive.

Coastfags, third worlders, and other equatorial fags would die but one was actively destroying itself with the other anyway so neither matter much. Anything of value they created would be preserved underwater.

We're slowly re-entering an Ice Age, started around this year of 2018 and the transition will be completed at least until the end of the century.

Inform yourself more, we're entering both in a Grand Minimum (700 years cycle) and in a Normal Minimum (11 years cycle) phases of the Sun, our Magnetic Field is about to flip at max 50< years too.

Posting NatGeo crap images will bring you nothing.

nevermind that if you look at an actual "climate change" paper it's just faggots applying their personal biases to data extrapolated from applying a god damn LINEAR EQUATION to. very scientific. not like there is an agenda.

On your topic of Antarctica. Looks like only the US, a select number of european countries, and russia wouldn't be so BTFO by their resources being swallowed by the sea. russia looks cozy.

Nothing except dead penguins and polar bears because the sea levels wouldn't rise if all the ice melted because none of these climate change dickheads have ever taken a basic physics course. Basically the ice has the same mass as water so guess what? If it melts nothing changes except there is no fucking ice anymore.

It doesn't work like that.

The more heat rises, the more ice melt.

The more ice melt the more earth gets cold.

Ice is pure water. Sea water is salted.

Pure water is less dense than salter water.

Salted water sinks. Pure water rise.

BUT

Ice is cold water. Sea water is hotter.

Cold pure water sinks. Hot salt water rise.

This creates intense oceanic currents, which in turn largely creates the weather, pure cold water sinks (from the pole especially the Arctic), hot salt water (from the Equator. more sun = more heat = more evaporation = more salt).

The minute there isn't enough ice is the minute the Gulf-stream stops and the minute Europe turns into Canada/Russia, which will cool the whole planet, until the thing will go the other way by itself due to salinity.

It's basic elementary school physics.

The earth as a geological environment is a fucking self regulated system. It's laughable that anyone believes humanity can fuck with it when it can withstand comet impacts and mass volcanoes and cataclysms that makes the entire human nuclear arsenal look like a sneeze (let alone CO² production).

b46396 No.552634

>>552598

The worry of global climate change from the people who write and read the scientific literature mainly has to do with frequency of serious storms and how changes in weather may mess with food production. Nobody in the field is worried about "The Earth". They're worried about the people who live on it.

4712fe No.552638

Ok, let's say that a random person in Belgium finds a magic lamp and rubs it, releasing a genie. He gets one wish and he wishes that "Jungle areas would become desert and temperate areas would become jungle, while the far north would become temperate. New land availability in the far north and south, Siberia, Greenland, and Northern Canada would become useful with the Arctic becoming a naval battlefield. Whatever resources lie under the ice of Antarctica would also become available and it too would become competitive." Also, the Netherlands are gone.

So, now we can assume that the things OP said in this magical what-if scenario are true and have nothing to do with the veracity or lack thereof of any climate change model (or any battlefield game), what would be the geopolitical consequences?

b46396 No.552643

>>552638

Russia would have that year-round, self regulated, salt water sea port they always wanted.

People could also safely sail year round between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans north of Canada, making some spheres of trade easier and giving Canada more power over that trade.

Well you want my prediction?

It will suck in the third world, as usual, and it will be ok in the developed world (provided we stop importing third worlders) becasue the smart humans will do what needs to be done infrastructure-wise.

In some place it's already the case it always makes me laugh when they show the Venetian lagoon submerged when Venice and the italian gov' have already made the necessary investment, because high tides were becoming more and more frequent.

For a more detailed basis for speculation, one should read:

http://worlddreambank.org/D/DUBIA.HTM

Which is a thorough description of hypothetical climates and biomes on a warmer Earth. The author, Chris Wayan is a socialist and a furry, but that doesn't detract from the richness of his geographical speculation and worldbuilding.

Wayan claims the resulting climate would be substantially more lush, so polar and subpolar areas wouldn't be the only ones gaining fertility- vast swathes of land in Africa, Australia and northern China would also become more fertile.

Natural geography autists should also check out his other worlds.
