In case of Steyr ACR recoil of first round was transferred to the shooter and threw aim off before other 2 rounds were fired. Though with very light recoil if flechette ammo it should not be a serous problem in the theory.

Anyway as ACR trials demonstrated Stey ACR was extremely inferior gun comparing to the basic M16A2 with iron sights.

1. Every hour spent training how to fix your rifle is an hour spent not learning how to do anything else

2. It doesn't matter if you can magically teach all of your troops to field-strip the thing blindfolded, the more complex it is the more likely it is to break in the field, and those kinds of failures tend to happen at the worst possible time.
