This troubles me.
Just proves that the corruption in military branches is a huge problem for the Argies. Argentina needs a stronger military but that would be impossible with the current state of the country (which is just slowly starting to change after 12+ years). People in high places probably knew that the sub had issues but instead of using the money for repairs, (((they))) decided to pocket the money. I will bet my bottom dollar that IF and when they find the pieces of the sub, the scum are going to point fingers at the current government and blame it all on them. Disgusting. That or it was a group of Paraguayan Navy commandos sabotaging the sub.Also worth mentioning the sub had the first female crew member, so just like the Challenger Space Shuttle back in the day, it ended up exploding.
Luckily, the government is going to fire and get rid of alot of high ranking people due to this complete debacle. I'm more worried about how this looks on an international scale. This doesn't paint a pretty picture and combining this with the rest of the problems that Argentina has doesn't bode well. Chile, probably Brazil and most likely Bolivia are getting antsy, looking for new territory.

Well there's always the prospect that the explosion wasn't from the sub exploding but a torpedo used to signal for help.
