Youtube isn't making enough money for Google, so they're shutting it down. They want to convert themselves into an online version of regular television, not an open source platform for sharing videos. Apparently no one told them TV/Cable was failing In order to do that they'll have to remove all objectionable content, in other words by end of 2018 if you don't see it on TV you won't see it on Youtube.
