I just checked their website though and apparently the thing weighs 8.7 pounds (which I assume is unloaded), regardless of caliber. That's acceptable for a .308, but in a 5.56 configuration it will be a hard sell, especially now that light weight ARs have become so hip.

No bullpup will replace the AR15 on the civilian market unless it can be price competitive with the AR15. No company will spool up to design and manufacture in large enough quantity to get anywhere close to that because no bullpup has ever been a roaring commercial success. It's a vicious cycle.

I just noticed the MDR seems like a cross between a Tavor and a Keltec if you look close. That doesn't bode well on any level.

The MDR looks great, I just wish that 6.5 CM was an optional conversion.

I want a 6-7mm caliber, in a bulpup and 6.5mm is a real common one.

Bullpups are the future whether you fags like it or not. The ability to have a full sized gun in a much smaller form ensures that especially in occasions of CQC in urban setting or fighting in thick brush.

Tooling for the FAMAS was sold or scrapped I don't exactly remember, most national companies closed (the surviving ones manufactures bombs and heavier guns like artillery and so on) and the very few private companies that exists only makes sporting arms.
