Nice over simplification, fucktard. The VC were using any and all means of camouflage, from captured uniforms to black and OD to blend with the pitch black darkness of night or the dense jungle. The VC's greatest camouflage was the ability to blend in via "grey man"…looking like every other Viet in the area. The same principle allies to Al-Qaeda and the Mujhadeen.

This seems like a flaw of logic. Yes you expect to see people with urban clothes in an urban environment, but everyone smarter than a potato can differentiate a jeans worn by a human and a jeans that is just trash and lies around.
However the goal of camouflage is it to wear clothes that break the silhouette of the human form and thus make it more difficult to be identified and shot at. This is not archived by this method.
Also if you think about not being identified as a soldiers is enough to camouflage you this is a further mistake, because the fact that they are already fighting in a city proves that at least one force operating in the conflict zone doesn't give a shit about civilian lives.

So apparently this is a thing from Canada, new Rhodie camo.

Not surprising considering there are many rhodies in mapleland. I can guarantee you'll find them at gun shows.

The majoriy of Rhodies wearing shorts were RLI. They wouldn't be out for long if they were on fireforce.
Also note the lack of packs/more ammo outside the chest rigs.

This is going to sound stupid, but would Hawaiian shirts or something similar work for urban camo depending on the pattern? They probably wouldn't make you stick out in a civilian crowd as much as actual camo, and could still break up your outline. Also Neps.

Sounds stupid, I really like it. I've thought of it too, and Hawaiian shirts are nice.

I remember somebody had the idea of using ceramic floor "rolls" (I don't remember its correct name) as body armour. And they are quite colourful, so an armour made out of them would break up your outline quite well. Especially if you glue some mirrors to it.

What does everyone think of these Chinese knockoff camos I found? The brushstroke/lizard almost looks like a Portuguese or Brazilian pattern like in >>492790 and the other might pass for a desert version of flecktarn or erbsenmuster.

Wait who is >>511111 ?
Regular mosaic tiles are clay ceramic, two layers of it can stop 9mm, or MIGHT stop a .45acp at best. 10mm will go through, as will 5.7mm or 7.62x25.
I suggest you get RECYCLED GLASS MOSAIC TILE™, theres usually some boro-silicate glass mixed in with the rest, and borosilicate was military-grade ceramic armor in 70s. So it should stop a lot more than just regular clay tiles, although I would still test it.
Also RECYCLED GLASS MOSAIC TILES™ are multicolored, look like shit, and far cheaper than other types of mosaic tiles.

Nah, they had a big problem with mozzies, at least on the Angolan side. Flies were the worst. Piss Moths in the desert region. They just dealt with it.

There's nothing wrong in that. Knowledge is a beautiful thing.

What would be a good camo for farmland Midwest? Green patches of forest surrounded by corn/bean fields that are empty dark brown dirt half the year. The green goes all orange and brown in Autumn. Snow obviously in winter.

I have a different question: Isn't it pointless to wear camouflage clothes if you show everyone your bright white arms and legs?
Soldiers in other armies wear clothes that cover their arms and legs and additionally paint their face to hide every bit of skin, yet there are these Rhodesians that run around like they are on a safari holiday.

Since I got superior stylez and camo knowledge I only use Kryptek(couple backpacks, rigs, and shirts) or Multicam (got one smock set) with tans.
I'm looking at getting this backpack, though, which is a cool proprietary design by the company owner reminiscent of Flecktarn but too dark to be an optimal camo imo.

Oh wow, Rhodie camo has really blown up. I guess these would be some of the more faithful repros being 100% cotton and all. I plan on taking down some of the rhodie I got from Ivan and testing it out in West Texas for dove season this year. I will take pics and report back.

Alright so I got some pictures when hunting out in west Texas. Thanks to the logistics of Ivan I never got a boonie hat to go with my rhodie camo, but I was able to find a hat from Rhodesian Arms. The Rhodesian Arms cap is WAY to bright, but the pattern appears right.
I initially thought the brighter pattern would work better in the lighter greens of west Texas, but I was completely wrong. On the downside the rhodie camo is dark enough that it almost feels like wearing black when directly in the sun.

Confirmed ASAT. The guy in the first pic is wearing a First Lite jacket. They make a lot, if not all, of their products available in it. Solid company and gear.
